Health is one of the important aspects in every individual’s life. However, health problems are often only realized when they have entered a more severe stage. To overcome this, the Indonesian government has launched the Free Health Check (CKG) program which aims to increase public awareness of the importance of health and early detection of various diseases. This program is expected to serve the community with a wide coverage, from children to the elderly, and provide significant health benefits for the Indonesian people.
The Free Health Check Program aims to prevent the development of various diseases by conducting early detection. Detecting diseases at an early stage can help in faster and more effective treatment, reduce the risk of complications, and reduce high medical costs. In addition, this program is also designed to replace the curative approach (treatment after illness) with a preventive approach (prevention), which is very important in maintaining the long-term health of the community.
Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka said that the CKG program service must be able to reach all groups. Therefore, in addition to socialization, the Vice President reminded the importance of the ease of the registration process from various channels that can be accessed by the public.
This CKG program can be accessed by the public in various ways. One way is to register through the Satu Sehat Mobile application, which is available on Android and iOS platforms. This application allows people to choose the time and location of the health center that suits their needs.
In addition, this program can also be accessed through the WhatsApp chatbot service. People simply contact the number provided and follow the instructions given to register. For those who do not have access to digital technology, registration can also be done by visiting the nearest health center by bringing identification such as an ID card or Family Card (KK).
The Director of Prevention and Control of Non-Communicable Diseases (P2PTM) of the Indonesian Ministry of Health, Dr. Siti Nadia Tarmizi said that the free health check program in the future will not only be carried out in health centers, but also in offices. This step is to facilitate access and expand the target recipients of free health checks.
The benefits of this Free Health Check program will be felt in the long term. By carrying out routine health checks, people will find it easier to detect diseases early, which allows for more effective prevention or treatment. Early detection also has the potential to reduce the death rate from diseases that could have been prevented or treated more quickly.
This program also provides an opportunity for the community to be more aware of the importance of maintaining health, not only when sick, but also by living a healthy lifestyle every day. This can certainly reduce morbidity and improve the quality of life of the community as a whole.
Head of the Communication Bureau of the Ministry of Health, Aji Muhawarman said that based on the survey conducted, it was found that public interest in free health checks provided by the government was very high.
The free health check program is very much needed amidst the gap in access to health services in the community. Many individuals find it difficult to have health checks due to economic factors. The cost of having a health check at an adequate health facility is quite high, and for some people, this is a major obstacle.
In addition, there are also groups of people who are not aware of the importance of routine health checks. People often feel that as long as there are no complaints or symptoms of the disease, they do not need to have themselves checked. In fact, early detection of serious diseases such as cancer or heart disease is very dependent on routine checks, even though someone feels healthy.
Director General of Prevention and Control of Non-Communicable Diseases of the Indonesian Ministry of Health, Siti Nadia Tarmizi said that the CKG Program can include kidney screening, especially for at-risk patients, namely patients with diabetes, hypertension, cholesterol, and obesity. This screening is done in health centers, not in hospitals, meaning it is done in basic health care facilities. The purpose of screening is to intervene early
The free health check program offers a much-needed solution for people who have difficulty accessing quality health services. Through this program, people can get a health check without having to worry about the cost. This examination usually includes various important tests, such as measuring blood pressure, blood sugar levels, cholesterol, and other tests that can provide an overview of a person’s health condition. Thus, this program not only provides convenience, but also provides
