Free Health Checks Enjoyed Directly by the Public

Jakarta – The government continues to demonstrate its commitment to improving access to health services for the community through the Free Health Check (CKG) program. The free health check program is a government program that can be directly enjoyed and utilized by the community, with this program of course it can provide preventive health services and early detection for people of various age groups.
Deputy Minister of Finance, Suahasil Nazara revealed that this program uses a budget of IDR 3.4 trillion, with a breakdown of IDR 2.2 trillion from the Ministry of Health and IDR 1.2 trillion from the Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBD).
“This free health check is given to people who have birthdays, children at school, pregnant women, and babies and children up to the age of six years in accordance with the technical instructions (Juknis),” he said.
The program has been running simultaneously since February 10, 2025. This program allows people who are celebrating their birthdays to enjoy free health services at health facilities such as health centers and clinics. The implementation of this program will be carried out evenly throughout the region with the coordination of the Ministry of Health (Kemenkes). Now, CKG can not only be done on birthdays, but on any date once a year.
Spokesperson for the Presidential Communications Office (PCO), Adita Irawati, said that this program is part of the campaign promises of President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka. The President hopes that this program can be part of health protection for all Indonesian people and improve the welfare of society as a whole.
“The existence of a free health check program is expected to be a preventive step in maintaining the health of the Indonesian people. With a population of 280 million, this service will be enjoyed gradually,” he said.
Health checks are carried out in stages based on age groups, which are divided into three main categories. CKG is intended for ages 0-6 years and 18 years and above, with free health checks once a year at health centers and clinics. School CKG is intended for children aged 7-17 years and is carried out every new school year as part of periodic health checks at schools. CKG is specifically intended for pregnant women and toddlers, who will receive regular health check-up services at health centers and integrated health posts according to schedule.
The government’s steps in providing a free health check-up program that is beneficial to the community are highly commendable. This initiative shows a real commitment to improving welfare and quality of life, ensuring more equitable access to health services for all age groups.
