Free Nutritional Meal Program: A Major Investment for the Nation

Jakarta – The government continues to demonstrate its commitment to improving the quality of life for its citizens through the Free Nutritional Meal Program (MBG), which has now become one of the flagship policies with long-term impacts on the nation’s economic growth.
This program not only ensures access to nutritious food for all segments of society but also creates significant opportunities for job creation and boosts national productivity.
President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, reiterated his commitment to making Indonesia a modern and advanced country.
“We are determined to harness all the great potentials that Indonesia possesses. The Free Nutritional Meal Program is one example of a long-term investment that will not only improve the quality of life for our citizens but also strengthen the foundation of our nation’s economy,” said President Prabowo.
Meanwhile, the Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), Dadan Hindayana, revealed that the agency had secured an additional budget of IDR 100 trillion amidst efforts to streamline the 2025 state budget.
“This additional budget was obtained due to BGN’s achievements in meeting several strategic requirements, such as increasing employment, productivity, and innovation,” Dadan stated.
On the international front, the MBG program has also garnered praise. Naomi Aiba, a researcher from the Kanagawa Institute of Technology in Japan, expressed that the program is truly outstanding.
“Indonesia has shown extraordinary courage in implementing this program. The cohesion between the government, society, and related parties is a vital asset in ensuring the success of this program,” Naomi said.
One of the main objectives of the MBG program is to ensure that every Indonesian citizen, particularly children and vulnerable groups, can access nutritious food with ease, regardless of their economic status.
This program is expected to improve the overall health of the population, which in turn will directly contribute to enhancing human resources in Indonesia. In the long run, a high-quality human resource base will be key to driving sustainable national development.
With strong support from various parties, both from the government and the public, the MBG program has the potential to become a major driver toward a healthier and more prosperous Indonesia. In this collective effort, it is essential for every individual to offer full support to ensure the program’s maximum success, creating widespread positive impacts, and contributing to the nation’s progress.
