Generasi Muda Papua Dukung Program Ketahanan Pangan Nasional, Merauke Siap Jadi Pusat Produksi Beras
PAPUA – The National Food Security Program initiated by President Prabowo Subianto has received widespread support from the Papuan people. One concrete form of this policy is the determination of Merauke Regency as a national food barn, which is considered a strategic step in improving food security and the welfare of the Papuan people.
Papuan youth figure, Gifli Buinei, emphasized that this policy will have a major impact on the local community. “If Merauke Regency is not designated as a national food barn, then it will have a direct impact on us, the Papuan people. Therefore, we must support this decision together,” he said.
According to him, this program is not only a national project, but also has great potential in improving the standard of living of the local community. With this policy, local farmers will receive greater support in the form of technology, agricultural infrastructure, and wider market access.
However, Gifli also emphasized the importance of community participation in ensuring the success of this program. “This program will not run well without the support of all of us, especially the younger generation. Therefore, we must actively support and oversee the realization of this program so that it truly provides benefits for the Papuan people,” he added.
In addition, he also invited the local government to ensure that the Papuan people are directly involved in this program. “Our hope is that the Papuan people are not only spectators, but also have an active role in food production and distribution in Merauke. Thus, the Papuan economy can grow stronger,” he explained.
The determination of Merauke as a national food barn is also considered an important step in efforts to realize food self-sufficiency. With its enormous agricultural potential, this district has the opportunity to become an international-scale food production center.
With full support from the community and government, this program is expected to be able to provide a sustainable positive impact on national food security and the welfare of the Papuan people.
