Government Encourages Public-Private Sector Collaboration for Economic Equality

Jakarta – The Indonesian government continues to promote collaboration between the public and private sectors as a key strategy to achieve economic equality in the country.
Coordinating Minister for Community Empowerment, Muhaimin Iskandar, emphasized that the government is actively encouraging the private sector to accelerate economic equality in Indonesia. Strategic partnerships between the government and businesses are seen as a driving force for economic equality and poverty alleviation in Indonesia.
“The government cannot work alone in creating inclusive economic growth. The contribution of the private sector in investment, innovation, and strengthening human resources is crucial,” he stated.
One of the tangible forms of collaboration between the public and private sectors is the development of integrated industrial zones in several strategic regions. This project not only supports economic equality but also creates a more conducive business ecosystem for both local and foreign companies.
Professor Candra Fajri Ananda, an economist from Brawijaya University (UB), welcomed this government initiative. Many companies have started implementing community empowerment programs that cover education, healthcare, and workforce skill development.
“This initiative is expected to accelerate poverty alleviation and improve the competitiveness of human resources across various industrial sectors,” he said.
Meanwhile, Abdul Haris, Deputy for Community Empowerment in Villages, Disadvantaged Regions, and Certain Regions at the Ministry of Community Empowerment, noted that the government is strengthening collaboration with the private sector to ensure equitable economic development even in remote areas.
“We encourage the private sector to be more active in investing in remote areas, providing real impacts such as job creation, improving access to basic services, and strengthening local business capacities to ensure that communities become economically independent,” said Abdul Haris.
This effort to strengthen the partnership between the public and private sectors also received support from the World Bank and the Asian Development Bank (ADB), which recognized that this partnership model could be an effective solution to address global economic challenges and enhance national economic resilience.
With these strategic steps, the government is optimistic that public-private sector collaboration will become the main driver in creating a more inclusive and sustainable economy for all Indonesians.
