Jakarta — The government ensures that the distribution of social assistance (bansos) in the June–July 2025 economic stimulus package is well-targeted. This policy aims to maintain public purchasing power and support national economic stability amid global pressures.

The Rp24.44 trillion stimulus package was announced following a limited meeting chaired by President Prabowo Subianto at the Merdeka Palace. In a press conference, Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati outlined five approved policies: transportation discounts, toll incentives, expanded social assistance, wage subsidies, and discounts on Work Accident Insurance (JKK) contributions.

A key focus is strengthening social assistance. The government allocated Rp11.93 trillion to expand the benefits of the Basic Food Card (Kartu Sembako) by providing an additional Rp200,000 per month, along with distributing food aid in the form of 10 kilograms of rice per month to 18.3 million beneficiary families (KPM) for two months.

“This assistance began disbursing in June, and implementation will be carried out by the Ministry of Social Affairs in cooperation with the National Food Agency (Bapanas),” Sri Mulyani explained.

Statistics Indonesia (BPS) head Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti emphasized that all social assistance distributions refer to the National Socio-Economic Single Data (DTSEN), which integrates DTKS, Regsosek, and P3KE data.

“The distribution of social assistance in the second quarter of 2025 is based on DTSEN in accordance with Presidential Instruction Number 4 of 2025,” she said.

She added that data validation is rigorously conducted through field verification together with the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP) and the Ministry of Social Affairs. Of the total 20.3 million beneficiary families, 16.5 million have undergone verification, and 14.3 million of them were identified within deciles 1 to 4.

“This cleaned data forms the basis for social assistance distribution, which began in late May,” Amalia added.

Social Affairs Minister Saifullah Yusuf stated that ground checks found 1.9 million KPMs ineligible to receive assistance.

“We will immediately remove recipients classified as inclusion errors to ensure social assistance truly reaches those entitled,” he said.

This data updating is estimated to save the state budget up to Rp17.9 trillion.

“The President stresses that national data consolidation is crucial to ensure the program runs effectively,” Saifullah added.

With an integrated data system and strict verification, the government hopes this economic stimulus will be well-targeted and provide maximum impact on national economic growth.
