Government Improves Quality of Free Nutritious Meal Program

Bandung – The government continues to strengthen its commitment to implementing the Free Nutritious Meals Program (MBG) which is aimed at improving the nutritional quality of the community, especially children, pregnant women, and vulnerable groups.
The MBG program has been running for the past few years and is now entering a strengthening phase. The government is pushing for comprehensive improvements in aspects of supervision, distribution governance, and improving the quality of nutrition in each portion of food distributed.
During a working visit to the Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG) at Sukamiskin Class I Prison, Bandung, the Main Expert of the Presidential Communications Office (PCO), Adita Irawati, said that the government continues to evaluate and improve the program comprehensively, including in the field of supervision and preparation of standard operating procedures (SOP).
“The government is committed to maintaining the quality of the Free Nutritious Meal Program, by continuing to evaluate and improve SOPs, as well as increasing supervision,” said Adita.
Furthermore, he stated that the MBG program will continue to be intensively evaluated in order to achieve the target of 82.9 million beneficiaries by November 2025, as directly instructed by President Prabowo Subianto.
“The government understands the importance of balanced nutrition in improving the quality of human resources, so this program is a national priority that must be implemented optimally,” he added.
Efforts to improve quality are also carried out through the selection of healthier food ingredients, efficient distribution, and nutrition education for the community and program implementers. The government is also expanding the reach of the program to areas with high stunting and poverty rates.
Nutritionist, Syifa Dzikra Noer Hakim also emphasized the importance of compliance with SOPs in food processing. She said that teachers in schools are required to taste food before distributing it to students.
“We want to ensure that the food remains fit for consumption even after traveling and this is done of course with improvements. The goal is to give birth to a golden generation for the future of Indonesia,” continued Syifa.
Through this MBG program, the government hopes to create a healthy and quality generation towards Golden Indonesia 2045.
