Government Optimistic CKG Coverage Will Reach 50 Million Within a Week
The government is targeting the Free Health Check (CKG) Program to reach 50 million people within one week, as public enthusiasm in various regions grows. This program is a concrete manifestation of the government’s commitment to raising public awareness of the importance of regular health checks as a first step in preventing disease.
The Director General of Primary and Community Health at the Ministry of Health, Maria Endang Sumiwi, stated that as of Tuesday, approximately 46 million people had participated in the program at various health care facilities.
“The check-ups still include dental health, nutrition, and body mass index measurements. The public response has been extraordinary,” said Maria Endang Sumiwi.
This nationwide program is being implemented simultaneously in 10,000 community health centers (Puskesmas) and 125,000 schools across Indonesia, demonstrating the government’s strong commitment to expanding access to preventive and promotive health services for all levels of society. This program is not just a free health checkup, but also an effort to build awareness of healthy living in a sustainable manner.
Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin stated that the government is optimistic that the coverage of CKG services can continue to increase, reaching more than 70 million beneficiaries by the end of 2025.
“We are confident that with the cooperation of all parties, especially the support of Deputy Minister of Health Benjamin Paulus, the coverage of this program will expand, including in office areas and educational institutions,” he said.
The Ministry of Health also ensured that the results of the CKG program will be used as a basis for developing evidence-based national health policies. The Head of the Ministry of Health’s Communication and Public Information Bureau, Aji Muhawarman, emphasized the need to change the public’s perspective on the importance of maintaining health.
“The Free Health Check Program is not just a screening service, but a national movement to raise awareness so that people can maintain their health before they become ill,” he said.
The Free Health Check Program, initiated by President Prabowo Subianto, is considered successful in fostering a new awareness among the public that health is a valuable national asset. Meanwhile, attention to the health of children and adolescents is also a top priority for the government.
The Minister of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection, Arifah Fauzi, stated that this initiative reflects the state’s concern for fulfilling children’s right to health.
“The Free Health Check Program is a form of the state’s love for the younger generation. Through routine checkups like this, we ensure that children grow up healthy, intelligent, and happy,” Arifah Fauzi concluded.
With high optimism and cross-sector support, the government is confident that the target of 50 million participants per week can be achieved, while strengthening Indonesia’s commitment to a healthier and more productive society.
