Government Takes Action Against MinyaKita Mafia, Observer: A Form of State Alertness
Jakarta – The government is becoming more assertive in eradicating the MinyaKita mafia that has harmed the community. Political observer of the Indonesian Political Review, Iwan Setiawan, appreciates the steps taken by Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto in taking action against the perpetrators of the fraud.
According to Iwan, Prabowo’s assertiveness shows that no one is immune to the law in his government.
“This shows the alertness and presence of the state in guarding and protecting its people,” he said.
This case also confirms that the government is taking real steps in supervising and taking action against speculative practices and price manipulation that harm the community.
Iwan assessed that the surprise inspection carried out by the Minister of Agriculture Amran Sulaiman on the measurements of MinyaKita in the field was part of the President’s direct instructions.
“I am sure that the inspection and investigation carried out by the Minister of Agriculture Amran Sulaiman on the measurements of MinyaKita in the field were instructions and attention from the President, as was the President’s attention to the mega corruption cases that have recently emerged,” he explained.
Iwan added that the government’s decisive steps deserve to be appreciated.
“Therefore, I think the firmness and alertness of this government should be appreciated that the government is not playing around when it comes to food,” he concluded.
Previously, President Prabowo Subianto was reportedly angry after learning that the volume of MinyaKita which should be 1,000 milliliters was cut to around 750 to 800 milliliters by unscrupulous individuals. This was expressed by Deputy Minister of Agriculture (Wamentan) Sudaryono after meeting Prabowo at the Presidential Palace Complex, Central Jakarta.
“Well, how can you not be angry, right, there are many people, it’s not just the President who is angry, we are all angry,” said Sudaryono.
The Head of State also emphasized that no party should take advantage at the expense of the people.
“What I mean is this, don’t just want a momentary profit, then the people are the ones who are sacrificed. Like reducing the scale, reducing the quality, reducing the volume, that’s clearly a crime, right,” said Sudaryono.
