Indonesia Collaborates with the UN to Seriously Discuss the Issue of the World Water Crisis at the 10th WWF Summit
BALI — Indonesia is collaborating with the UN to seriously discuss the issue of the world water crisis at the 10th WWF Summit.
As host of the 10th World Water Forum Summit in Bali, Indonesia collaborated with the UN.
Both parties are committed to discussing solutions to empower global water conservation, one of which is the phenomenon of water stress.
BAPPENAS Director of Forestry and Water Resources Conservation, Medrilzam, explained that Indonesia also invited various parties across elements.
“We want to involve government agencies, civil society and the private sector to promote the issue of water conservation in Indonesia,” he said.
Furthermore, Indonesia will push for several important things at the 10th WWF Summit for the survival of humanity.
Some are water welfare, water for humans and nature, disaster risk management, governance cooperation, sustainable water financing and innovation.
Meanwhile, the DPR RI together with the World Parliamentary Forum (IPU) also continued to encourage discussions on the issue of the water crisis at this event.
The Chairperson of the DPR RI, Puan Maharani, explained that her party continues to make WWF a success by strengthening water governance for the welfare of the people.
“As the host of the session, the DPR RI is focused on making it successful both in terms of implementation and substantive success in strengthening water governance for the welfare of the people,” he said.
Puan firmly said that all members of parliament in the world must play an active role by sharing with each other to overcome the water crisis.
Therefore, according to him, the world water forum plays a very important role because water resources themselves are very useful for all aspects of human life.
“With such an important and abundant function, water has therefore become a subject of political discussion,” said Puan.
Likewise, PUPR Minister Basuki Hadimuljono said that currently water is under threat due to climate change and population growth.
Therefore, currently Indonesia invites all countries to collaborate and work together to deal with the water crisis.
“Now countries are tired of competition. So, they all want to collaborate. “That’s why, we at WWF bring a fighting spirit of cooperation,” he said.
