Indonesian Esport Goes Global, PBESI Welcomes Women’s National Team Winning 2023 Sea Games Gold Medal in Cambodia

Jakarta – The Women’s National E-Sport Team won 1st place at the 2023 Sea Games in Cambodia. The young athletes who won gold medals were warmly welcomed by all PB ESI management when they arrived back in Indonesia on Friday (12/5)

PBESI Deputy Secretary General Dr. I Gede Made Kartikajaya said that he was very proud of the athletes who won Gold medals in Esport Mobile Legends: Mobile Legends: Bang-Bang (MLBB) Women, at the 2023 Cambodia Sea Games event.

I Made also conveyed a message from the General Chairperson of PB ESI, Police General Dr. Budi Gunawan, to pick up all of you Indonesian esports heroes.

“We’re picking up the nation’s heroes. Indonesian esport heroes who won gold medals at the Cambodian Sea Games,” said I Gede Made Kartikajaya, when picking up the Women’s Esport Mobile Legends National Team Mobile Legends: Bang-Bang (MLBB).

On this occasion, he also hopes that other teams currently struggling in Sea Cambodia will get the same achievement, namely a gold medal for Indonesia.

“In the future, we hope that others will follow your steps as the winner of the gold medal at the Sea Games,” he said.

Vivian, an Indonesian female esports athlete, said that she was very happy and proud to be able to contribute as an athlete for the country.

“Proud and did not expect to be an athlete and useful for the country. It feels like having a responsibility for the country,” said Vivian.

She also represents the PB ESI women’s team, stating that they have continued to try their best and in totality so that they can get a gold medal at the 2023 Cambodian Sea Games.

In the same place, the Central Executive of the Indonesian National Sports Committee (KONI), Icuk Sugiarto, also expressed his gratitude and welcome to the PB ESI Women’s team.

“I would like to welcome the female Indonesian esports fighters who have made their mark on the Cambodian Sea Games stage,” said Sugiarto.

According to him, these esports athletes have shown their achievements and made Indonesia’s name in the Esport branch even more glorious.

“This victory will be a trigger for Indonesian esports athletes. Hopefully it won’t only win at the Sea Games but also at other international stages,” he said.

PBESI’s success in developing esports in Indonesia has been recognized by the President of the International Esports Federation (IESF), Vlad Marinescu. According to him, the esports ecosystem in Indonesia has been able to ensure that this prestigious sport can continue to develop more rapidly

Leadership General of Police (Purn) Prof. Dr. Budi Gunawan, as General Chairperson of PB ESI, has indeed proven successful in bringing many achievements in the field of E-Sport.

Previously, the General Chairperson of PBE ESI revealed that he wanted to develop and promote a stable esports ecosystem that could lead Indonesia to become a world esports leader.

“Our mission is to encourage the growth of esports in the country by making Indonesia the most active esports center,” he said.

According to him, there is still a lot of potential that can be explored by Indonesian esports athletes so that they can continue to be developed. [-red]
