Indonesia’s Economy Remains Stable, ‘Indonesia Gelap’ Movement Is Just Groundless Provocation

JAKARTA – The call for ‘Indonesia Gelap’ recently voiced by some parties is considered irrelevant, as it does not align with the current national situation, which remains stable.
In response, the Minister of State Secretary (Mensesneg), Prasetyo Hadi, stated that protests are a form of freedom of expression. However, he emphasized that demonstrators should be careful in interpreting the situation and not distort the facts.
“Well, this is what you call freedom of expression, but please, once again, don’t distort what is not like that. There’s no such thing as Indonesia Gelap,” said Prasetyo.
Furthermore, the Minister of State Secretary believes that Indonesia will rise in the future. He called on all parties to remain optimistic in welcoming a brighter future.
“We will welcome Indonesia’s rise. We, as a nation, must be optimistic. We must be optimistic. We are in the same boat, in the same ship,” he said.
Mensesneg also urged the public to give the Prabowo-Gibran administration the opportunity to carry out the people’s mandate.
“So, give the Prabowo-led government the opportunity. It has only been 100 days, just a few months. There are many problems, but you can see that we are continuously searching for ways, searching for solutions. Maybe it hasn’t been able to satisfy some parties, perhaps some parties are still not accepting it. For us, the government is just doing its job,” he said.
In line with this, Member of Commission XIII of the House of Representatives, Arisal Aziz, appreciated the government’s budget efficiency policy.
According to him, this policy reflects the government’s commitment to ensuring more effective use of the budget according to the people’s needs.
“This budget efficiency will accelerate development and improve the welfare of the people,” he said.
Therefore, mass actions claiming an economic crisis in Indonesia have no strong foundation.
On the contrary, the government’s policies have shown concrete evidence in maintaining national economic stability and growth.
