Inter-Institutional Synergy Monitors Corruption-Free Government Strategic Programs

Jakarta — The government continues to demonstrate its commitment to realizing clean and corruption-free governance by strengthening synergy between institutions.

One of the concrete steps taken is cooperation between the Ministry of Housing and Residential Areas (PKP) and the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), in order to monitor the implementation of national strategic programs, including the construction of three million houses, so that they run in an accountable and transparent manner.

The memorandum of understanding or MoU was signed directly by Minister of PKP Maruarar Sirait and representatives of the KPK at the Red and White Building, Jakarta, Wednesday (18/6).

In his statement, Maruarar said that this cooperation covers various important aspects, starting from the exchange of data and information, strengthening human resource capacity, to the utilization of state confiscated goods and public education related to anti-corruption.

“We also ask for additional human resources from the KPK to assist directly in the ministry. The KPK’s response was very fast and open,” said Maruarar.

He emphasized that support from the KPK is crucial, especially because the Ministry of PKP manages large-scale national budgets and projects.

“We are required to prepare a strong system and human resources to anticipate large projects that will be carried out,” he explained.

Maruarar also said that this collaboration has begun to show positive impacts, especially in efforts to prevent potential irregularities within the ministry.

“This collaboration will strengthen public trust in government programs in the housing sector,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Secretary General of the KPK, Cahya Harefa, said that his institution is ready to provide full support to the Ministry of PKP in ensuring that national strategic programs run according to anti-corruption principles.

“Hopefully this collaboration can ensure that the President’s program, such as the construction of 3 million houses, can be realized with anti-corruption principles,” said Cahya.

He added that synergy between institutions like this is a strategic step in encouraging a clean and serving bureaucratic culture.

“Strict supervision and strengthening of an integrated system, it is hoped that development programs will not only run on time, but also be free from corrupt practices,” he concluded.

The steps taken by the Ministry of PKP and KPK show that supervision of the government’s strategic programs is not only carried out passively, but with a proactive approach involving various institutions.

The synergy that is built is an important foundation in creating sustainable, inclusive, and integrated development. (*)
