Strong collaboration from all parties is urgently needed to support the democratic and dignified implementation of the 2024 regional elections. The community is expected to mutually maintain the conduciveness of the implementation of the 2024 Simultaneous Regional Elections.
After the presidential election and legislative election, the General Election Commission (KPU) will hold the 2024 Regional Head Election (Pilkada) simultaneously in Indonesia on November 27 2024. The Pilkada is held to elect regional heads at the provincial to district/city levels. The stages of holding the 2024 regional elections to elect the governor and deputy governor, regent and deputy regent, as well as mayor and deputy mayor have begun with the stage of fulfilling the requirements for support from individual candidate pairs.
To make all stages of the 2024 regional elections a success, collaboration is needed from all elements of society so that the democratic party to elect regional leaders can run democratically and with dignity. Based on KPU Regulation (PKPU) Number 2 of 2024 concerning Stages and Schedule for the Election of Governor and Deputy Governor, Regent and Deputy Regent, and Mayor and Deputy Mayor in 2024, the stages of fulfilling the requirements for support for individual candidate pairs will be carried out from 5 May 2024 to 19 August 2024.
Currently, a number of parties in various regions are actively preparing various activities to participate in the success of the 2024 Simultaneous Regional Election agenda. One of them is the Acting Mayor of Kendari, Muhammad Yusup, who is starting to design a strategy to make the 2024 Simultaneous Regional Election a success. He is collaborating with the Leadership Communication Forum Regional (Forkopimda) including religious, traditional and community leaders to sit together to discuss preparations for the Pilkada at Kendari City Hall.
Acting Mayor Muh. Yusup said that synergy between all parties is very important to ensure that the regional elections run smoothly, safely and democratically. Reflecting on the success of holding the 2024 General Election (Pemilu), namely the Presidential Election (Pilpres) and Legislative Election (Pileg), all parties are expected to work together and work together to repeat this success. Of course, the 2024 regional elections cannot be separated from the role of all elements.
Muh. Yusup also appreciated the support of Forkopimda, related agencies in making the elections which were held on February 14 2024 a success. He emphasized the importance of synergy between all parties to ensure that the Pilkada runs smoothly, safely and democratically. Acting Mayor Muh. Yusup appealed to religious leaders, traditional leaders and the community to help the government in making the regional head elections in Kendari City a success. All parties must involve themselves in creating a conducive situation and be able to synergize with the TNI/Polri in efforts to maintain environmental stability.
Meanwhile, the Cimahi City Government held a Socialization on the Implementation of the Election of Governor and Deputy Governor as well as the Election of Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Cimahi in 2024. This activity was held to increase community participation in the implementation of the 2024 Simultaneous Regional Elections in Cimahi City.
Acting Cimahi Mayor Dicky Saromi said that the Cimahi City Government has an obligation to ensure that the election process runs smoothly, transparently and democratically. This is a concrete manifestation of commitment to a process of democratic life in Cimahi City that is healthy, transparent and accountable, as well as a form of Cimahi City Government’s efforts to successfully hold the 2024 Regional Head Election. According to Dicky, the 2024 Simultaneous Regional Election has an important meaning as an embodiment of the values of the value of democracy reaches the regions. This is a moment when Cimahi residents can exercise their right to elect a leader who is deemed capable of representing the interests and aspirations of the people of Cimahi City.
In other areas, the Head of the North Barito Regency National Unity and Political Agency (Kesbangpol), Rayadi appealed to the local community to maintain the security and order situation ahead of the 2024 Regional Election. The Village Heads and Village Heads in the North Barito Regency area are jointly mapping out vulnerabilities in the implementation of the 2024 Simultaneous Pilkada to make it easier to handle and secure the 2024 Pilkada which will be held in November 2024.
Rayadi also appealed to all residents in North Barito Regency who have the right to vote later to be able to use their voting rights in the implementation of the 2024 Pilkada. He reminded supporters and voters of the prospective Regional Head candidates to always maintain security and order, in order to create a climate The 2024 North Barito Regency Regional Election will be conducive, safe and smooth.
The steps taken by regional officials stakeholders provide very important meaning for the continuity of the 2024 Regional Elections. So it is hoped that they will provide positive energy at every stage of the Regional Elections implementation. Of course, this must be balanced by the entire community in order to make a real contribution and provide a positive response, so that all stages of the 2024 regional elections can proceed according to the timeline that has been determined so that a healthy democratic climate is formed.
The formation of a local democratic climate will create a focused political life in regional communities and of course will build active community involvement in regional development. The more advanced a region is, the better it will be in forming a national civilization because national civilization starts from the commitment of local communities through local wisdom which is preserved and maintained through local democracy.
Through strong collaboration from all parties, the community is expected to have high active participation to support the democratic and dignified implementation of the 2024 regional elections. Apart from that, issues that could trigger divisions and give rise to conflict to harm the implementation of the Pilkada can be avoided with a mature and wise attitude. Let us join hands to maintain the conducive implementation of the 2024 Simultaneous Regional Elections throughout Indonesia to produce quality regional leaders.
