Jakarta – The Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) has expressed strong optimism regarding the country’s sustainable economic growth. Kadin Chairman, Anindya Novyan Bakrie, stated that 2025 presents numerous opportunities for Indonesia’s economy. Despite ongoing global challenges such as geopolitical and geoeconomic uncertainties, Indonesia is believed to be capable of overcoming them through synergy between the government and the private sector.

“We see 2025 as a year full of challenges, but also opportunities. And we choose to remain optimistic,” said Anindya Bakrie during a statement in Jakarta.

One of the key drivers of economic growth is increased investment. Bakrie highlighted the importance of legal certainty to attract both domestic and foreign investment. “We appreciate President Prabowo Subianto’s efforts to build investor confidence during his visits to various countries, including China, the United States, Peru, Brazil, and the United Kingdom, which have resulted in significant investment commitments,” he explained.

Furthermore, the government’s strategic programs—such as the Free Nutritious Meals initiative, food estate development, resolution of bad debts for MSMEs, and affordable housing—are expected to positively impact poverty reduction and improve public welfare.

“One of the most important factors for Indonesia is investment. I am confident in our President’s ability to encourage investors to come to Indonesia. What stands out is the emphasis on legal certainty. I believe this will be the foundation for a revival or continuation of the much-needed investment in our country,” he added.

Long-term investments in education, healthcare, and digital infrastructure are also considered crucial to enhancing Indonesia’s competitiveness on the global stage.

Kadin also emphasized the vital role of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the national economy. Accelerating MSME growth is one of the seven strategic priorities outlined by Kadin to help achieve the government’s ambitious economic growth target of 8%.

With strong collaboration between the government, the private sector, and all stakeholders, Kadin Indonesia is confident that the 8% growth target can be achieved—creating new job opportunities, enhancing global competitiveness, and ensuring equitable distribution of prosperity across the country.
