Jakarta – Secretary General (Sekjen) of KSBSI, Dedi Hardianto invited all workers to celebrate Labor Day (May Day) 2025 peacefully and continue to support all Prabowo government programs to improve workers’ welfare.

This statement was conveyed by the Secretary General (Sekjen) of KSBSI, Dedi Hardianto in Jakarta on 4/29/2025.

According to him, workers must be mature and responsible in celebrating May Day.

“The Workers’ Action in the May Day celebration must be peaceful and responsible and continue to support the Prabowo Government in improving the welfare of workers,” he said.

The President of the Confederation of Indonesian Trade Unions (KSPI), Said Iqbal, said the same thing.

Said Iqbal said that President Prabowo Subianto’s presence at the May Day Celebration was a historic moment and a symbol of the government’s commitment to respecting the workers’ struggle.

“President Prabowo will be present at the Monas field, this is the second time history has repeated itself, an Indonesian President is present directly with workers in the celebration of May Day or International Workers’ Day, the first to do so was Bung Karno or Ir Soekarno on May 1, 1965,” he explained.

On the other hand, Political Observer of Sebelas Maret University (UNS) Surakarta, Dr. Nurmadi Harsa Sumarta said that May Day is a momentum for reflection and a wise attitude for workers.

“Unwise demonstrations cause many negative impacts and workers must also be able to maintain the investment climate for the common welfare,” he concluded.

“Don’t let unfavorable conditions tarnish Indonesia’s name so that investors leave, so the role of workers in maintaining conducive conditions in the country is important,” he concluded.
