May Day as a Form of Togetherness President Prabowo Realizes Workers’ Hopes

JAKARTA я The celebration of International Workers’ Day (May Day) 2025 at the National Monument, Jakarta, is concrete evidence of President Prabowo Subianto’s togetherness in fighting for the hopes of workers in Indonesia.
This momentum also marks how the government has taken significant steps in establishing closeness with worker groups while also showing very real empathy towards employment issues.
The President of the Confederation of Indonesian Trade Unions (KSPI), Said Iqbal, said that hundreds of thousands of workers celebrated May Day with President Prabowo at Monas.
“Hundreds of thousands of workers, almost 200 thousand workers, will celebrate May Day with President Prabowo Subianto at Monas on May 1, 2025,” said Said Iqbal.
He emphasized that the arrival of the Head of State was a rare and historic event because the workers felt that there was concrete support from the government during the leadership era of President Prabowo Subianto.
рPresident Prabowo’s arrival shows empathy, concern, and siding with the lower middle class, the marginalized, and the little people. That is the hope of all Indonesian people,с he explained.
Said Iqbal also voiced six main issues raised in the commemoration, starting from the elimination of the outsourcing system to the ratification of the Domestic Workers Protection Bill.
May Day is not a holiday, May Day is a struggle of labor issues. Labor Day is not a holiday, May Day is a day of struggle of laborers, he said.
He also expressed confidence in President Prabowo’s vision to build the country towards greater prosperity.
“We are sure, we believe, and we will support President Prabowo Subianto to realize a welfare state for workers,” he said.
Meanwhile, Haris Rusly Moti from Roundtable 98 Cipayung also welcomed President Prabowo’s presence at this commemoration.
Moreover, in the history of the Republic of Indonesia, there have only been two Indonesian Presidents who were willing to take the time to attend May Day in person, one of whom was Prabowo Subianto.
“We appreciate this step because there were only two Indonesian Presidents present at the May Day commemoration, namely President Soekarno and President Prabowo,” said Haris.
On the other hand, President Prabowo invited workers in the country to unite and join hands together in building Golden Indonesia 2045.
“Let us unite, let us close ranks together, we will achieve prosperity and prosperity,” he stressed. (*)
