Jakarta, – The Indonesia Menyapa Malam program broadcasted by RRI Pro 3 presented an interesting discussion entitled “MBG: Strategic Steps of Asta Cita to Strengthen Indonesia’s Golden Human Resources”.

In this event, Prof. dr. Chandra Yoga Aditama, Professor of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Indonesia and Director of the Postgraduate Program at Yarsi University, highlighted the importance of the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) program in supporting the strengthening of Indonesia’s human resources (HR).

According to Prof. Chandra, HR is the main capital for the progress of the nation.

“Basically, building a nation starts from building for its people, so HR development is certainly the main priority and this has been stated in Asta Cita so it deserves to be appreciated,” he said.

In the discussion, Prof. Chandra also emphasized that nutritious food is a crucial factor in maintaining health.

“Clean and healthy living behavior, one of the factors is nutritious food. Nutritious food will be a very important element for health, and if provided in schools, it will certainly support the education process,” he explained.

For the past few months, the MBG program has been running in various schools in remote areas of the country and has received a positive response from parents.

“Everyone needs nutritious food, but this program is better prioritized for children who are much more in need, especially in remote and isolated areas that are far from more adequate facilities,” continued Prof. Chandra.

However, he also reminded that implementing the MBG program on a national scale is not a simple matter.

“Free nutritious food for all children throughout Indonesia and pregnant women is not a simple matter. It needs the best management so that this good program can be in line with its goals, namely achieving the children of Golden Indonesia or strengthening our human resources,” he added.

Furthermore, Prof. Chandra emphasized that the MBG program must be carried out correctly and consistently in order to provide maximum long-term impact.

“This MBG program can be said to be a form of long-term investment, as long as it is carried out correctly and consistently continuously,” he said.

With proper and sustainable implementation, the Free Nutritious Meals program is expected to become an important pillar in creating a healthy, intelligent, and quality golden generation, in accordance with the grand vision of Indonesia’s development towards 2045.
