MSME Entrepreneurs Maximize Opportunities During Ramadan

Jakarta – Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) entrepreneurs are increasingly optimistic about this year’s holy month of Ramadan, leveraging various business opportunities available.

The Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) continues its efforts to enhance the competence of MSME entrepreneurs as part of a strategy to drive inclusive and sustainable economic growth. This initiative aligns with President Prabowo’s vision of creating an independent and highly competitive economy.

One of the latest initiatives being implemented is the “UMKM Naik Kelas” (Upgraded MSMEs) training program, which aims to accelerate the transformation and digitalization of the MSME sector.

“Over the past five years, we have engaged with thousands of MSMEs, organized numerous exhibitions, and provided training in various regions,” said Arya Sinulingga, Special Staff to the Minister of BUMN.

He added that the launch of the Naksir UMKM application has successfully gathered data on MSME potential nationwide, enabling better mapping of entrepreneurs’ needs and offering more targeted solutions.

Meanwhile, a survey conducted by an MSME community platform revealed that most entrepreneurs remain optimistic about generating profits during Ramadan. Dewi Meisari Haryanti, co-founder and advisor of UKMINDONESIA.ID, stated that this optimism stems from the trend of repeat orders from customers.

“We see many MSME entrepreneurs carefully crafting their business strategies, such as introducing product innovations tailored to market needs and intensifying promotions on digital platforms,” Dewi explained.

Beyond product innovation and digital marketing, various training programs also play a crucial role in supporting MSME growth. Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno, founder of the Indonesia Setara Foundation, emphasized that MSME training programs aim to foster a broader entrepreneurial movement within society. These programs not only provide skill training but also open up new economic opportunities and job creation.

“The goal is for participants to utilize these new skills to start or expand their Eid cookie businesses,” said Sandiaga.

He also highlighted that the training covers various business aspects, from production to more effective business management. Additionally, selected participants in the program receive business capital assistance to accelerate their business growth.

With continuous support from the government and business communities, MSME entrepreneurs are expected to keep evolving and adapting to economic challenges. Ramadan serves as a strategic momentum for MSMEs to enhance their competitiveness and strengthen their contribution to the national economy.
