People’s Schools Provide Free Education, Proof that the State Cares for the Nation’s Children

Jakarta – The state is present in real form when access to education is no longer a luxury that can only be reached by a few people. The presence of the People’s School is a reflection of the state’s concern for the future of the nation’s children,
especially for those who come from underprivileged families or underdeveloped areas.
Indonesian President, Prabowo Subianto said that 100 free boarding schools will be built every year, specifically for children from the lowest economic class.
“This step not only reflects a long-term vision, but also becomes a concrete strategy to break the chain of intergenerational poverty,” he said.
President Prabowo realized that poverty is not only about economics, but also about unequal opportunities. Therefore, building an inclusive education system is not an option, but an urgent need for the nation.
“Big changes can only be achieved with courage, clean leadership, and strong political will,” President Prabowo stressed.
President Prabowo’s move to build 100 free boarding schools per year is a major breakthrough in the history of national education. This is not just a number, but a symbol of real support for the common people.
People’s School is a concrete form of social intervention in the world of education. Amidst the challenges of the educational gap between cities and villages, between rich and poor, the presence of this school provides new hope. Children who were previously forced to drop out of school due to costs, limited transportation, or lack of educational facilities in their area, now have the opportunity to pursue a decent formal education.
In addition, Deputy Minister of Social Affairs, Agus Jabo Priyono said that People’s Schools are not only about access to education, but part of the state’s mission to break the chain of intergenerational poverty.
“The President does not want his parents to be poor, his parents are poor, his children are also poor. Second, the President wants to honor the poor,” said Agus Jabo.
It is hoped that the People’s School can expand to more areas in Indonesia. Currently, most similar schools are still concentrated in certain areas. By expanding the reach and increasing capacity, more children of the nation can feel the benefits of free and quality education.
