Jakarta – The administration of President Prabowo Subianto is considered to have a great potential to lead Indonesia towards more constructive and inclusive development. Various figures, including experts and religious leaders, are urging the public to support the government’s initiatives while maintaining optimism in facing national challenges. This approach is seen as effective in dispelling pessimistic narratives such as “Indonesia is dark,” which often emerge amidst economic pressure and high public expectations.

Dr. Aditya Perdana, a political communication expert from the University of Indonesia, emphasized that democracy currently faces complex challenges, both from national dynamics and global issues. However, he believes that the political and institutional strength of President Prabowo is a strategic asset in fulfilling campaign promises. “President Prabowo’s success in bringing together various political forces has created government stability, which should drive national optimism,” he stated in an interview on a national TV station on Thursday, April 24.

In the same event, Dr. KH. Marsudi Syuhud, MM, Vice Chairman of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI), also highlighted the importance of transparency in government communication. According to him, the balance between the public’s desires and the limitations of resources must be communicated honestly. “Transparency is essential to help the public understand that not all desires can be fulfilled at once. The current government has been doing this well,” he said. Marsudi also reminded the public not to be provoked by negative narratives but instead focus on the opportunities and efforts the government is making to maintain national development.

The high expectations of the public for government programs, as mentioned by Aditya, need to be managed through open communication to avoid disappointment. He stressed that honesty in addressing the challenges faced will strengthen public trust. Meanwhile, Marsudi added that criticism should be constructive and responsible, not divisive. “Differences in opinion should be expressed openly, but with the shared spirit of nation-building,” he asserted.

The call to support President Prabowo’s administration while maintaining optimism is expected to strengthen the national spirit. Through collaboration between the government and the public, pessimistic narratives can be mitigated, paving the way for a more advanced and harmonious Indonesia.
