JAKARTA – The Prabowo-Gibran government has shown real steps in strengthening the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) as the spearhead of corruption eradication in Indonesia. In its first 100 days, a number of strategic programs have been launched to ensure that the KPK functions optimally and independently.

The President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, stated that eradicating corruption is the main agenda of his government.

“The KPK is the vanguard in efforts to create a corruption-free Indonesia. The government will continue to support the strengthening of regulations and resources to ensure its optimal performance,” said Prabowo.

The General Chairperson of the Muhammadiyah Central Leadership, Haedar Nashir, emphasized his support for the KPK.

“The KPK must be an independent, effective, and integrity-based institution in preventing and eradicating corruption,” he said.

Haedar also appreciated the government’s steps. He emphasized the importance of continuing to support the KPK to maintain morality in law enforcement.

“Strengthening the KPK must be directed so that this institution remains fair, objective, and without intervention from any party,” he said.

KPK Chairman Setyo Budiyanto stated his institution’s readiness to synergize with the government in various corruption eradication programs, including through anti-corruption education in the public and private sectors.

“We will ensure the independence of the KPK and continue to work to enforce the law firmly and with integrity,” he said.

Other concrete steps can be seen from local governments, such as Purworejo Regency which has launched the Monitoring Center for Prevention (MCP) 2025. This program is designed to increase transparency, strengthen integrity, and prevent criminal acts of corruption in its region.

In addition, other major steps can be seen from the KPK’s initiative to expand the reach of anti-corruption education programs to remote areas. This program involves civil society, academics, and business actors to strengthen public awareness in rejecting all forms of corruption.

The government is also encouraging the strengthening of good governance in the government and public service sectors in order to create a clean and efficient bureaucracy.

The government is optimistic that the synergy of all elements of the nation, from the central government, regions, to the community, can bring about significant changes in eradicating corruption. In the past 100 days, these strategic programs have become concrete evidence of the seriousness of the Prabowo-Gibran government in creating a clean, just, and integrity-based Indonesia.
