Jakarta – Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto directly took over the resolution of the polemic over the boundaries between Aceh and North Sumatra Provinces, especially regarding the status of four islands in the border area.
President Prabowo’s decisive steps have received support from various political circles. Expert Advisor to the Research and Development Center of the Golkar Party, Henry Indraguna, said that the resolution of the boundary issue must be carried out immediately to prevent horizontal conflict.
“Each party claims the four islands as part of its administrative area. This raises the risk of horizontal conflict, governance confusion, and legal uncertainty,” he said.
Henry fully supports the president’s decision to conduct a comprehensive evaluation so that this case does not drag on and legal clarity can be enforced immediately.
Support also came from the Indonesian House of Representatives. The Head of the PDIP Faction, Utut Adianto, appreciated President Prabowo’s alertness in responding directly to the polemic between provinces. According to him, Prabowo’s decision reflects sincerity and decisiveness in leadership.
“So that’s our appreciation to the President. Once again, why did I say that the President’s attitude is sincere, genuine, that’s how it is. A sincere person usually answers immediately. He does it immediately,” said Utut.
Utut also assessed that the involvement of experts was the right step and in accordance with the constitutional authority of the head of state.
“Regarding the 4 islands, let the experts who understand the case the most. I can’t answer, but did Mr. Prabowo bypass troops or ministers? I don’t think so. That’s still his authority,” he continued.
With the direct takeover step from the President, a fair, constitutional, and historical data-based settlement can be realized immediately.
