President Prabowo’s Visit Ensures Smooth Execution of Free Nutritious Meal Program

Jakarta – Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto visited the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) program at SDN Kedung Jaya 1, Bogor City, West Java. The visit aimed to ensure the smooth implementation of this government flagship program and its tangible benefits for Indonesian children.
The arrival of President Prabowo was warmly welcomed by hundreds of students, who waved their hands and greeted him with great enthusiasm. The President took time to respond to the greetings and interacted directly with the students before inspecting the food distribution area.
During his visit, the President closely observed the meals prepared for the students and ensured that the distribution process was running smoothly. He also visited several classrooms to see firsthand how the children received and enjoyed the nutritious meals provided by the government.
President Prabowo emphasized that the MBG program is a strategic step by the government to improve the health and education of children in Indonesia.
“We want to ensure that every child receives adequate nutrition so that they can grow up healthy and intelligent,” he said.
In addition to monitoring the MBG program, the President also observed the teaching and learning process at SDN Kedung Jaya 1. He spoke with the students, offered motivation, and stressed the importance of studying diligently for a better future.
The government has allocated a budget of IDR 71 trillion for the initial phase of the MBG program, which is targeted to provide nutritious meals to 17.5 million children daily. The President also revealed that the government is reviewing additional funding to accelerate the expansion of this program to reach 82.9 million children by the end of 2025.
Separately, the Chairperson of the Central Leadership of Muslimat NU, Khofifah Indar Parawansa, expressed her support for the MBG program. She emphasized that this program aligns with the vision of producing a young generation strong in intelligence, nutrition, and character.
President Prabowo reiterated his commitment to maintaining and expanding the program. He is even prepared to allocate a larger budget by cutting other less urgent expenditures, such as overseas business trips and academic discussions that do not have a direct impact on the people.
“What matters to me is ensuring that Indonesian children receive nutritious meals every day. We can save in other areas, but not when it comes to the future of our children,” he emphasized.
This visit underscores the government’s commitment to executing its priority programs, ensuring that the MBG implementation is effective, and delivering a positive impact for the nation’s future generations
