President Targets Zero Accident in MBG Program
Jakarta, – The President of the Republic of Indonesia emphasized his commitment to achieving Zero Accidents in the implementation of the Free Nutritious Meals Program (MBG). This statement was delivered after a limited meeting with Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto and the Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), at the State Palace, Jakarta.
The President stated that safety, health, and targeting accuracy are the main priorities in implementing the MBG, which has currently reached 3.3 million children throughout Indonesia by April 2025. “This program is not just about providing food, but about building the future of Indonesia’s golden generation. There must be no accidents, distribution errors, let alone misuse,” said the President.
The Head of BGN emphasized that his party has implemented a multi-layered supervision system, starting from food safety standards, logistics distribution, to training of field officers. “We are targeting Zero Accidents across all lines of the MBG program, in line with the President’s direction. All parties, including distribution partners and food providers, are required to follow the strict protocols that have been set,” said the Head of BGN.
For information, the MBG Program is one of the national priority programs that aims to ensure that school-age children receive nutritious food to support physical growth and intelligence. In addition to paying attention to food quality, the government also continues to expand the scope of the program, with a target of reaching 10 million beneficiary children by the end of 2025.
In an effort to ensure the smooth implementation of the program, the government also collaborates with independent supervisory institutions and opens a real-time public complaint channel. Every report will be followed up quickly to prevent accidents or procedural irregularities.
The President invited all elements of the nation, both local governments, the private sector, and the community, to jointly monitor and support the success of the MBG Program. “Our children are the future of the nation. We must not be careless in the slightest,” said the President.
