Proliga 2023: Jakarta BIN Advances to the Final Four After Conquering Jakarta Pertamina Fastron
Yogyakarta – Jakarta BIN was able to defeat Jakarta Pertamina Fastron in a tight duel at the UNY Yogyakarta Sports Hall. Playing five sets, Jakarta BIN was able to win with a score of 3-2 (25-21, 20-25, 16-25, 20-25, 15-9).
Jakarta BIN led from the first set of the match with a score of 25-21. Player from China Peiyan Chen managed to dominate the game so that Jakarta Pertamina Fastron did not move.
In the second and third sets, Jakarta BIN was unable to stem the attacks from Jakarta Pertamina Fastron in the second and third sets. The change of player rotation in Jakarta proved that BIN did not produce perfect results so that they were left behind with a score of 20-25 and 16-25.
Jakarta BIN began to rise in the fourth and fifth sets. They returned to the game against Jakarta Pertamina Fastron with a score of 25-20 and 15-9. With this result, Jakarta BIN is sure to be ready to fight in the Final Four.
Jakarta BIN coach, Octavian explained that his victory was thanks to the player rotation tactics carried out during the match.
“We do a lot of rotation. Moreover, foreign players are also not in a 100 percent fit condition,” said Octavian.
Even though they won, Octavian admitted that his team still had a number of shortcomings that had to be corrected immediately before making it to the final four. Luckily in Jogja they only played once, so they had enough time to prepare the team.
“Right now we’re just keeping the condition of the players. Especially foreign players so they don’t get injured and their motivation goes down. Foreign players in Proliga still influence local players. So we will continue to watch over it. What is clear is that we don’t want to hitch a ride in the Proliga,” he said.
Jakarta BIN’s success in entering the final four at Prologa 2023 cannot be separated from the support of BIN chief General Police (Purn.) Budi Gunawan. His team will continue to advance to the next round by showing the best performance.
