Quality Subsidized Housing, a Housing Solution from the Government for the Community
Jakarta – The government is targeting the provision of 350 thousand subsidized housing units by 2025 for low-income communities. Minister of Housing and Settlement Areas (PKP), Maruarar Sirait said that this achievement is a historic step in national housing development.
“Throughout history, there has never been a provision of 350,000 subsidized housing units in one year like what happened this year. Throughout Indonesia’s independence, only now,” said Maruarar.
According to him, this policy is motivated by President Prabowo Subianto’s commitment to improving people’s welfare.
“What does that mean? Mr. Prabowo is pro-people, in that sense. If it were not for his support for the people, of course he would not have issued a policy that greatly benefits the community like that,” he said.
Although he has not yet conveyed the details of the program in full, Maruarar ensured that the community will benefit greatly from this program. He emphasized his commitment to defend the policy in front of anyone.
“I dare to debate with anyone about Mr. Prabowo not being pro-people in the housing sector, I answer that he is very pro-people,” he said.
In implementing this program, the government appreciates PT Bank Tabungan Negara (Persero) Tbk or BTN which is the largest distributor in the Housing Financing Liquidity Facility (FLPP) program.
“BTN is the main partner and the largest distributor of FLPP for subsidized housing. Therefore, we express our gratitude for BTN’s most dominant contribution compared to other FLPP KPR distributor banks,” said Maruarar.
This program is expected to be able to open wider opportunities for low-income people to own their first home with affordable installments and fixed interest during the loan period. In addition, the government is also running the 3 Million Houses Program which includes the construction and renovation of residents’ homes.
Maruarar also added that the implementation of the 3 Million Houses Program, which includes the construction and renovation of people’s homes, is real evidence of the commitment of President Prabowo Subianto’s government in providing decent housing for all levels of society.
Meanwhile, BTN President Director, Nixon LP Napitupulu, emphasized his company’s readiness to fully support the implementation of the program.
“We are fully committed to making the 3 Million Homes Program a success. We also routinely go directly to the field to review the construction of houses for the community, as well as propose various best financing schemes that suit their needs,” explained Nixon.***
