Red and White Cooperative is Real Evidence of Government Presenting Community Welfare
Jakarta – The government continues to demonstrate its commitment to improving community welfare by strengthening the people’s economy. One proof is through the establishment and development of the Red and White Cooperative, a strategic step that makes cooperatives the main pillar of empowering the people’s economy.
Deputy Minister of Home Affairs (Wamendagri), Bima Arya Sugiarto emphasized the importance of the Red and White Cooperative as a driving force for the village economy that has a direct impact on community welfare
“So now all the benefits should be felt by the residents, felt by its members,” said Bima Arya.
According to Bima Arya, villages in Indonesia have great potential in various sectors such as agriculture, fisheries, maritime affairs, and irrigation. Through cooperatives, these potentials can be managed in a more structured and sustainable manner.
“God willing, it will be made even faster, it will be attempted to be more effective by simultaneously establishing the Red and White Cooperative,” he said.
Meanwhile, Deputy Chairman of the MPR RI, Eddy Soeparno expressed his support for the development of the Red and White Cooperative as an effort to strengthen the people’s economy at the village and sub-district levels.
According to him, cooperatives are an ideal forum for building economic independence for the community from the bottom up, while strengthening a more equitable national economic structure.
“The Red and White Cooperative is not just a symbol, but a real movement to bring economic justice to the community. We need cooperatives that are alive and active in villages and sub-districts, whose benefits are truly felt by the residents,” said Eddy.
Eddy emphasized that cooperatives can be a driving force for the local economy if they are managed well and receive policy support from the government.
“We must ensure that the Red and White Cooperative empowers farmers, fishermen, small traders, and housewives who have micro businesses. Cooperatives must be a place to learn, grow, and network,” he said.
Eddy also emphasized that strengthening cooperatives is in line with the values of Pancasila and the spirit of mutual cooperation which are the foundation of national life.
“The Red and White Cooperative is the big house of the people’s economy. Let’s maintain and develop it together. This is not just about the economy, but about sovereignty, about the nation’s pride,” he concluded.
With the spirit of mutual cooperation, the Red and White Cooperative is real proof that the government is serious about providing equitable and just welfare for all levels of society.
