Security Forces’ Commitment to Protect Papuan Citizens Proven to be Optimal
The security forces’ commitment to protecting the Papuan people is always reflected in actions that prioritize security and justice, which is to quell the heinous actions of the Papuan Separatist Terrorist Group (KST) which always stalks the community to create riots and violence in society. However, these actions are always prevented and dealt with firmly by security forces appropriately and quickly.
Security forces received information regarding KST Papua’s action plan which would carry out attacks on the community and security forces. The security forces, including members of the task force, were directly involved in taking action to clear the area that was the next target for KST Papua.
During the search, Kapen Kogabwilhan III Col. Czi, Gusti Nyoman Suriastawa, said that the Task Force Battalion 411/Pendawa Kostrad team saw the suspected person running towards the forest and leaving behind luggage that was likely to be smuggled.
However, the action plan that was to be carried out by KST Papua failed because the smuggled goods were discovered by the security forces in the form of long-barreled firearms of the M4 and AR 15 types along with air rifles, solar cells and other logistics which would be sent to Nduga Regency, Papua.
Suriastawa also said that this firearm was very dangerous because it was a new generation assault weapon that KST Papua would use to cause chaos in Kenyam District, Nduga Regency. The firearms likely came from the border area using the waterway and then entered Kenyam territory.
The terror action plan has been scheduled by KST Papua, namely on December 1 2024, Gusti Nyoman said that after an inspection in the building there were several sacks containing two long-barreled rifles, M4 Carbine and AR 15 Carbine with two 5.56 mm magazines, one an air rifle, a machete, and two Morning Star flags.
This cannot be separated from the cooperation between the community and security forces to eradicate KST Papua. Education, open dialogue and trust are mutually reinforcing. By getting active support from the community, security forces can be more effective in protecting and maintaining security in the Papua region.
The security forces are committed to maintaining Papua’s security. In the near future, together with other regional government levels, they will take steps to optimize this commitment. One of them is the proactive steps that have been taken to prevent and overcome potential violence, this reflects their dedication to security and stability in the Papua region.
Community figure, Derek Alom, said he would continue to maintain the unity and unity of the Republic of Indonesia, support and make the government’s development programs a success, and always maintain regional security. The community also rejects all forms of provocation from groups that can divide unity and integrity.
Apart from that, the Papuan people must be sensitive to safety and increase vigilance, where security forces carry out security patrols and the task force team also increases social communication through Binter by inviting the community to work together to maintain security stability in the region.
Apart from that, to anticipate KST Papua’s actions ahead of Christmas and New Year Dansatgas Lieutenant Colonel Inf. Agus Satrio Wibowo said he would remain alert ahead of December 1, Christmas and New Year, to increase security in anticipation of undesirable things, and ordered his members to embrace and invite the community to maintain security stability so that Christmas and New Year worship activities run safely and smoothly.

Most recently, the separatist group attacked the Cartenz Peace Task Force on Wednesday (22/11). In this incident, one NTT Brimob personnel was shot dead. Despite the loss of life from security personnel, all state institutions are committed to continuing to crush KST Papua.
The public also supports and fully appreciates the security forces in Indonesia for developing a series of optimal strategies to realize defense in this conflict-prone area, of course in eradicating KST Papua.
The preparation of an archipelagic defense strategy has indeed been carried out, in which the preparation of the strategy itself has been highly adapted to the current geopolitical and geostrategic conditions. With a good strategy that has been prepared, the public will be able to experience for themselves how strong the security forces’ commitment is.
Previously, the Cartenz 2023 Peace Task Force (Satgas) led directly by Police Commissioner (Kombes Pol) Faizal Ramadhani had made very strict law enforcement efforts against KST Papua.
