Security Forces Successfully Dismantle International Online Gambling Syndicate, 9 Suspects Arrested!
Jakarta – The Directorate of General Crimes (Dirtipidum) of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Indonesian National Police has once again demonstrated its commitment to eradicating illegal gambling by successfully dismantling an international online gambling syndicate operating through the 1XBET site. This success underlines the government’s efforts to combat cybercrime that harms the wider community, especially the younger generation.
In the disclosure, nine perpetrators involved in this gambling syndicate were successfully arrested. The 1XBET online gambling site that they managed was known to have a server centered in Europe and used the domain https://1xbetindo.com to run operations in Indonesia. Based on the investigation, the suspects acted as regional agents in Indonesia who carried out financial transactions using other people as intermediaries, and communicated with their networks abroad through the Telegram application.
Brigadier General Djuhandani Rahardjo Puro, Director of General Crimes (Dirtipidum) of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Indonesian National Police, revealed that the police had successfully confiscated a number of surprising pieces of evidence.
“We managed to secure more than IDR 11 billion in cash in various currencies, luxury vehicles, and electronic devices used to run this online gambling site. All of this evidence strengthens the evidence that this syndicate not only involves local parties, but also a highly organized international network,” he said.
From the results of the investigation, it was discovered that the 1XBET site used various methods to deceive security forces and the public. Agents in Indonesia work in a very structured manner, including using third-party identities to conduct transactions and maintain the confidentiality of their operations. In addition, communication between members of this gambling network is carried out very carefully via Telegram to avoid digital traces that can be traced by the authorities.
This success not only illustrates the determination of the security forces in taking action against cybercriminals, but also confirms the government’s commitment to eradicating destructive gambling practices. By exposing this syndicate, the National Police have eliminated one of the large networks that has harmed many Indonesian people.
As a next step, the police promised to continue monitoring other illegal online gambling sites that are still operating in Indonesia. They also appealed to the public not to get involved in online gambling activities that can damage social and economic life.
