Society Needs to be Aware of Provocation of ‘Dark Indonesia Volume 2’ Disturbing National Political and Economic Stability

Jakarta – The planned demonstration titled “Dark Indonesia Volume 2” which was reportedly planned to be held by several parties is considered irrelevant to the current national conditions. The action is considered an attempt at provocation that could disrupt the political and economic stability of Indonesia, which is currently in a conducive and safe state.
Minister of State Secretary (Mensesneg) Prasetyo Hadi emphasized that freedom of speech is indeed guaranteed by law, but he reminded the protesters not to spread narratives that distort the facts.
“Well, this is, yes, it’s called freedom of expression, but please once again, don’t distort what is actually not like that. There is no dark Indonesia, you know,” said Prasetyo when met in Jakarta.
Furthermore, Prasetyo expressed his hope that all elements of society would be optimistic in facing the nation’s challenges in the future. He emphasized that Indonesia will rise and continue to advance with a joint commitment from all the people.
“We will welcome the rising Indonesia. We as a nation must be optimistic, must be optimistic, we are in the same boat, in the same ship, right?,” he said.
In addition, the State Secretary also asked the public to give the Prabowo-Gibran government, which has only been running for a few months, a chance to carry out the people’s mandate well. According to him, the government continues to strive to find solutions to the various problems faced by the nation.
“So give the government led by Mr. Prabowo a chance, it’s only been 100 days, only a few months. There are so many problems, but you see that we are constantly looking for ways, looking for solutions,” Prasetyo added.
In line with that, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives (DPR) Cucun Ahmad Syamsurijal also appealed to the public not to be easily provoked by narratives that divide the nation. He emphasized that the demands of the action in “Indonesia Gelap Jilid 1” had been responded to with real action by the government.
“All of this is the government working on. “The demands have been answered by the work of the President,” said Cucun at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta.
He also reminded that criticism is part of democracy, but must be delivered constructively and not excessively. “Don’t be too excessive in criticism to that point. There is a mechanism that has been regulated in the constitution,” he said firmly.
Amid the provocative narrative circulating, the public is asked to remain calm and not easily provoked. Awareness and maturity in conveying aspirations are the keys to maintaining a healthy and harmonious democracy. []
