Supporting President Prabowo’s Commitment to Optimizing Anti-Corruption Efforts

Jakarta – President Prabowo Subianto’s commitment to combating corruption continues to receive broad support from various sectors. Several ministries and government institutions have expressed their readiness to work together in realizing a clean, transparent, and accountable administration.
The Ministry of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform (PANRB) is among the agencies that have declared full support for strengthening anti-corruption initiatives. Minister Rini Widyantini emphasized that her ministry is prepared to collaborate in reinforcing the institutional role of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
“The KPK plays a central role in Indonesia’s anti-corruption efforts. The Ministry of PANRB is ready to provide input and support within our authority to ensure the KPK can carry out its duties and functions effectively,” Rini stated.
She also highlighted that eradicating corruption is a key component of the bureaucratic reform agenda, which is a priority for the current administration. “The government’s strong commitment to fighting corruption is outlined in the Astacita, which includes strengthening political, legal, and bureaucratic reforms, as well as intensifying efforts to prevent and combat corruption and narcotics,” she added.
From the political sphere, Secretary II of the Strategic Research and Innovation Agency (BRAINS) of the Democratic Party’s Central Executive Board, Yan Harahap, stressed the importance of concrete implementation in the fight against corruption. He urged President Prabowo not only to focus on passing the Asset Forfeiture Bill but also to revise the KPK Law to restore the institution’s independence.
“Anti-corruption efforts without firm action and implementation are just empty talk. The President’s good intentions must be fully supported by all his officials. There should be no half-heartedness in fighting corruption,” Yan asserted.
The government’s concrete steps in combating corruption are also reflected in its support for the accelerated passage of the Draft Law on Asset Forfeiture. This bill is believed to be a vital tool in tracking and seizing assets obtained through corruption.
KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo appreciated President Prabowo’s public statement supporting the bill. “President Prabowo’s statement demonstrates the government’s seriousness in this matter,” said Budi.
Furthermore, he expressed hope that with clear support from the head of state, the House of Representatives (DPR RI) would promptly follow up on the bill’s deliberation and pass it into law. According to him, the enactment of this law will significantly enhance the KPK’s effectiveness in tackling corruption crimes.
With consistent leadership from President Prabowo and cross-sectoral support, the public holds high hopes that anti-corruption efforts will go beyond political promises and become a tangible, systematic, and comprehensive government agenda. Support for the institutional strength of the KPK and the acceleration of regulations such as the Asset Forfeiture Bill are clear indications that Indonesia is on the right track to breaking the chain of corruption at its roots.
