Soon there will be good news that will make all parties happy, the security forces will reveal the latest developments in the entire process of freeing and rescuing the Susi Air pilot.

What is the latest news or update on the entire process and mission for the release, evacuation and rescue of pilots from the Susi Air airline who were held hostage by the Separatist and Terrorist Group (KST) in Papua, the Indonesian National Army (TNI) revealed that there will soon be good news.

The TNI itself leaked that in the near future they will announce good news regarding efforts to free the New Zealand Pilot Captain Philips Mark Mehrtens. It is known that he has been held hostage by a separatist group in Bumi Cenderawasih since February 7 2023.

Head of the TNI Information Center (Kapuspen), Rear Admiral (Laksda) Julius Widjojono explained that there would be news that could make all parties happy in the near future. Furthermore, he added that all this time, all levels of security forces from joint personnel who were also assisted by the Indonesian National Police (Polri) had done everything in their power to free the hostages.

Regarding the process of releasing the Susi Air pilot, we are still waiting for further developments from the news provided by the security forces. At least these developments will continue to be updated over the next few weeks.

Indeed, all efforts have been made to take a very humanist approach to KST Papua led by Egianus Kogoya, even the security forces have also opened up as many opportunities as possible for dialogue and negotiation, including collaborating with many other parties such as local community leaders, traditional leaders, and Religious figures have even embraced Kogoya’s own family. However, so far, because the character of KST Papua is very harsh, it has really hampered the rescue process.

The leading party entrusted to carry out the negotiation process was not even directly from the security forces, but from Kogoya’s brothers and relatives, including the negotiation approach assisted by the local regional head, namely the Regent of Nduga, so that the main approach taken was through communication, then for action in the form of military operations, this is the last option.

For this reason, the Head of the TNI Penuspen is asking for support and prayers from all people in Indonesia because in the near future they will soon be successful in providing good and happy news to all parties regarding the continuation of the rescue and release mission process for Captain Philips Mark Mehrtens.

Previously, it was known that the security forces had succeeded in tracking down the position of the KST Papua headquarters led by Egianus Kogoya, who was holding the Susi Air pilot hostage. Then, because the approach taken was humanist and negotiated, the security forces themselves also continued to wait for the separatist gang’s good intentions to carry out peaceful liberation without any bloodshed.

Regional Military Commander (Pangdam) residents in Nduga.

So, if, for example, the security forces immediately take an approach using military operations and do not prioritize humanist approaches, then it will have the potential to cause additional casualties from innocent civilians as native Papuans (OAP) themselves, including It is possible that the fatalities will come from TNI and Polri personnel to KST Papua as well.

The reason is, in fact, it is not at all difficult for the combat power of the combined personnel security forces in the country to be able to destroy KST Papua. However, this step was not taken and the security forces continued to prioritize humanist efforts because of many other concerns.

Apart from carrying out firm and measurable law enforcement operations, the negotiation process is still being carried out to this day under the coordination of the Papua Regional Police Chief (Kapolda) and also Pangdam XVII / Cenderawasih. After around 7 (months), various efforts continued to be made.

In the end, from all the tireless efforts and hard work that has been carried out by the security forces from the joint personnel in order to be able to release the Susi Air pilot, they have now explained that as soon as possible there will be developments and good news that will make everyone happy. party.
