The government is urging the public to celebrate Youth Pledge peacefully, amidst provocations

As we approach the 97th Youth Pledge Day commemoration in 2025, the government, along with various elements of society, is calling on all young people to maintain a safe and peaceful atmosphere.
The commemoration, which falls every October 28, is expected to be an opportunity to strengthen the spirit of unity amidst social dynamics and the potential for provocation that could divide the nation.
The General Chairperson of the Central Leadership Council of the Indonesian National Youth Committee (DPP KNPI), Dr. Ali Hanapiah, M.Si, emphasized the importance of the role of young people as guardians of national stability.
“We support the steps the National Police (Polri) deems necessary to maintain national security and integrity, in line with the President’s directives in handling the current situation,” he said.
He called for the Youth Pledge to be an opportunity to strengthen solidarity among the nation’s future generations.
“Let’s embody the spirit of unity for the sake of the nation and country we love. As young people, we have a great responsibility to maintain harmony and prevent division,” he stressed.
Furthermore, Ali Hanapiah said that KNPI is fully committed to supporting President Prabowo Subianto’s Asta Cita program.
He also instructed all KNPI DPDs in Indonesia to be at the forefront in maintaining a conducive atmosphere in each region.
“Youth must reject all forms of provocation that seek to divide the people and the authorities. Together, we will create a progressive, safe, and prosperous Indonesia—not a return to difficult times,” he said.
On the other hand, the Governor of Central Java, Ahmad Luthfi, also emphasized the importance of collaboration between local governments and youth organizations to strengthen social stability.
He explained that safe and controlled regional conditions also encourage increased investment and economic growth.
“Youth organizations have a strategic role in maintaining a conducive climate and helping the government reduce extreme poverty,” he said.
The party is committed to continuing to involve youth organizations in the formulation of social and economic policies, so that the synergy between the government and the community can be strengthened.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Youth and Sports (Kemenpora) has released national guidelines for the implementation of the 2025 Youth Pledge commemoration.
With the theme “Young Men and Women Moving, Indonesia Uniting,” the government invites the public to celebrate with a spirit of togetherness and peace.
In the guidelines, the Ministry of Youth and Sports urges all regions, educational institutions, and youth organizations to organize various positive activities.
“This commemoration is not just about remembering, but about mobilizing. We want young people to be the main agents of change,” the Ministry of Youth and Sports wrote in its official guidelines.**
