The Government’s Strategy to Promote Development Through IKN is Correct

The strategy of the Government of the Republic of Indonesia (RI) in promoting development with an Indonesiacentric approach or focusing on equality in all corners and corners of the archipelago by replacing Javacentricity or only focusing on Java Island through the existence of the National Capital City (IKN) of the Archipelago is indeed very appropriate.Development that uses an Indonesia-centric approach that shifts Java-centrism is really what all the people of the country need so that no more people experience inequality. The National Capital City (IKN) of the Archipelago, which is located in the Province of East Kalimantan (Kaltim), has clearly answered all these challenges so that from the West or East ends, people throughout Indonesia are still able to enjoy the same facilities with real equality occurring. The accuracy of all the approaches or strategies that the government has implemented in developing IKN, namely by continuing to prioritize Indonesiacentric principles, has received a very good response from investors.According to Member of the Advisory Board of the Archipelago Capital Entrepreneurs Communication Forum (FKP IKN), Sony Subrata, investors continue to show their enthusiasm in building the new capital city in Indonesia. All investors who are members of the IKN Entrepreneur Communication Forum are not at all affected by any issues, so they all continue to show their strong commitment and seriousness in building the capital city of the archipelago. Moreover, with the current new leadership from the IKN Authority, namely Acting Head of OIKN Basuki Hadimuljono and also Acting Deputy Head of OIKN Raja Juli Antoni, this will further help the development of IKN to be even faster. Regarding the strategy implemented by the government, especially in the leadership era of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi), who continues to uphold an Indonesia-centric approach as a concrete manifestation of efforts to equalize development throughout the country.Likewise, the Minister of Investment or Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM), Bahlil Lahadalia, has also emphasized that the entire investment process at IKN has experienced absolutely no problems.Everything has gone well and well. Moreover, so far there have been absolutely no complaints from investors regarding various issues. Apart from that, now with the Acting Head and Deputy Head of OIKN, it is clear that the development process will be faster.Director of Economic and Maritime Information and Communication (Director of IKPM) Kominfo, Septriana Tangkary, revealed that the development of the National Capital City (IKN) of the Archipelago which the government is currently carrying out is a very real form of effort to realize the concept of development in an Indonesia-centric manner. This means that all development, even from Sabang to Merauke, from Miangas to Rote Island, all have the same infrastructure. Therefore, how to optimize the implementation of IKN development itself cannot be separated from collaboration from various parties ranging from local communities to all ministries and institutions in Indonesia.
As one example, the Government through the Ministry of Communication and Informatics (Kominfo) is taking part by preparing telecommunications infrastructure or equal distribution of internet access, including integrating Electronic-Based Government Systems (SPBE).Steps to prepare telecommunications infrastructure and equal distribution of internet access have now experienced improvements and greater equality than before. Previously only the people of Java Island could experience internet speeds of up to 20 mbps, but now this speed can also be felt by other communities. Then, in terms of the Electronic-Based Government System itself, this is necessary as a support for digital transformation in the National Capital City (IKN) of the archipelago. Integration and harmonization of digital services must be available in every ministry or public institution so that digital government can be realized well in IKN.The main reason why the government decided to move the capital city of Indonesia, which was previously DKI Jakarta, then now to East Kalimantan is of course none other than, namely, to realize just equality. From various sectors, all society must be able to feel that there is equality, whether in the economic sector, population or development. Because so far, almost everything continues to happen only on the island of Java. The development of IKN is actually not just physical construction or relocation, but also the transfer of a new work culture and mindset as well as the existence of much better systems and human resources (HR). No half-hearted, even the government has a target that IKN truly becomes a capital that other countries do not have. The government’s promotion of IKN development by using an Indonesia-centric approach is an effort that deserves high appreciation because now all Indonesian people no longer experience inequality.)* The author is a contributor to Angkasa Media Satu
