Jakarta – The implementation of the Re-vote (PSU) in several regions in Indonesia, such as North Gorontalo Regency, Tasikmalaya, and Empat Lawang, went relatively safely and orderly. The public in these areas showed maturity in democracy by accepting the results of the PSU without creating tension or destructive reactions.

This reflects public trust in the election process as a legitimate mechanism for determining regional leaders. This condition is also an indicator of increasing political literacy in the community in distinguishing between the dynamics of democracy and provocative incitement.

In North Gorontalo, despite legal objections from one of the candidate pairs regarding allegations of structured, systematic, and massive (TSM) violations, Bawaslu RI has decided that the request cannot be accepted. The public’s attitude of remaining calm and not being easily provoked by issues after the decision shows that trust in the election organizing institution is still maintained. Community leaders and local security forces also played an active role in educating residents not to be influenced by inflammatory opinions, and to fully support the PSU results as the legitimate choice of the people.

The Head of the Gorontalo Provincial Bawaslu, Idris Usuli said, based on the announcement results, the Bawaslu RI stated that the objection memo filed by the reporter (Legal Team of Roni Imran-Ramadhan Mapaliey/Candidate Pair 01) with Number: 01/REG/K/TSM-PB/BAWASLU//V/2025 against the Thoriq Modanggu-Nurjana Hasan Yusuf Candidate Pair (Candidate Pair 02), was decided to be unacceptable.

“This decision strengthens the legality of the PSU results in North Gorontalo Regency and confirms that allegations of structured, systematic, and massive (TSM) violations have not been legally proven. We urge all parties to respect this decision as a form of respect for the democratic process that has taken place according to the provisions,” he said.

Meanwhile, in Empat Lawang Regency, South Sumatra, the Constitutional Court has decided to dismiss the lawsuit for TSM violations in the PSU with Case Number 323/PHPU.BUP-XXIII/2025. This decision strengthens the legitimacy of the KPU’s determination of Candidate Pair 02 Joncik Muhammad – Arifa’i as the winner.

The Head of the Empat Lawang Regency KPU, Eskan Budiman, said that on May 29, 2025, the pair was officially determined with 60.79% of the vote.

“We invite all parties to respect this decision for the sake of a stable and legally legitimate government,” he said.

Meanwhile, KPU member Iffa Rosita assessed the PSU as a reflection of the consolidation of democracy that is growing and continues to be strengthened. She encouraged all candidate pairs and their supporters to accept the PSU results with a big heart. For Iffa, an attitude of acceptance towards the election results is a measure of political maturity as well as a form of trust in the election process.

“The importance of caution and integrity in the vote recapitulation process. We remind every region holding a PSU, including Serang Regency which is also holding a re-election, to avoid rash actions that could lead to legal disputes,” said Iffa.

With the easing of tensions after the PSU in several regions, the public is now expected to no longer be trapped in provocative discourse from certain groups. The attitude of accepting the election results is a form of democratic maturity and a commitment to maintaining national unity.-
