JAKARTA — The 2025 Youth Pledge Day commemoration is an important momentum that emphasizes the strong synergy between the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and the Indonesian National Police (Polri).

This reflects the resilience of national unity amidst various national challenges.

Coordinating Minister for Political and Security Affairs (Menko Polkam) General TNI (ret.) Djamari Chaniago emphasized that the solidarity of the TNI and Polri is the main foundation in maintaining national security and stability.

This was conveyed after leading the Troop Readiness Roll Call in the Monas area, Central Jakarta.

“I specifically wanted to meet with the soldiers who currently have reserve status under the TNI commander,” he said.

“With the permission of the TNI Commander, I inspected the readiness of these soldiers to assure us all that they are ready,” said Djamari.

Accompanied by Deputy Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs Lieutenant General TNI (Ret.) Lodewijk F. Paulus and Secretary to the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs Lieutenant General TNI Mochammad Hasan, Djamari assessed that Indonesia’s success in maintaining political and economic stability during the one year of President Prabowo Subianto’s administration was the result of strong defense and security synergy.

“That’s impossible to achieve in an unsafe and unstable political situation. In fact, we can,” he stressed.

On the other hand, the General Chairperson of the Indonesian National Youth Committee (KNPI), Ali Hanafiah, expressed his support for the steps taken by the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and the Indonesian National Police (Polri) to maintain national order during the Youth Pledge commemoration.

He believes this collaboration serves as an example for the younger generation to strengthen the spirit of unity in the digital era.

“We support the steps the National Police (Polri) deems necessary to maintain national security and integrity, in line with the President’s directives in handling the current situation,” Ali said.

He also reminded that young people have a big responsibility in preventing division.

Meanwhile, National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo appreciated the active role of all levels of society who helped create a safe atmosphere during the commemoration.

“National stability cannot be achieved by the authorities alone. It is the result of collaborative work between the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), the Indonesian National Police (Polri), and the community,” said the National Police Chief.

He added that protecting the digital space from disinformation and hate speech is part of efforts to maintain national unity.

The synergy between the TNI and Polri during the Youth Pledge is a real reflection of the noble values of Indonesian unity.

These two institutions continue to demonstrate that differing duties are no barrier to working together to safeguard the integrity and progress of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia. (*)
