Vice Chairman of MUI: Invites All Elements of the Nation to Build Optimism and Unity to Achieve a Glorious Indonesia
Jakarta – In a talk show on a national TV station titled “Maintain Unity for a Glorious Indonesia,” Dr. KH. Marsudi Syuhud, MM, Vice Chairman of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI), along with Dr. Aditya Perdana, a Political Communication Expert from the University of Indonesia, shared an important message about the significance of unity and optimism in facing Indonesia’s future.
Dr. KH. Marsudi Syuhud stated, “Maintaining a balance between hopes and reality is key in facing the existing limitations. Human desires are indeed unlimited, but the resources available are often limited. Therefore, we must remain optimistic and not get trapped in a pessimistic narrative that only worsens the situation.” According to him, the administration of President Prabowo Subianto has been working to balance various interests with a more realistic and strategic approach.
Furthermore, Dr. Marsudi urged all layers of society not to be easily provoked by negative narratives, such as the term “Indonesia is dark” often voiced in recent times. “Do not let the dark narrative dim our spirit. We must continue to look forward and think about what we can do to improve the situation,” he said. He also emphasized the importance of national solidarity, which proved to be strong when Indonesia faced the COVID-19 pandemic, as a foundation for maintaining the spirit of togetherness in building the nation.
Meanwhile, Dr. Aditya Perdana from the University of Indonesia added that Indonesia’s democracy currently faces significant challenges, both internally and externally. “However, President Prabowo has solid political and institutional resources. This provides a great opportunity to fulfill various promises and work programs. His success in uniting various political forces is a key asset in creating national stability,” he explained.
Dr. Aditya also reminded the importance of maintaining harmony and avoiding polarization in society. “In facing global challenges, we must ensure that all elements of the nation remain united. Unity is the key to creating a better and brighter Indonesia,” he added.
Both speakers agreed that Indonesia will only advance and achieve its great goals if its people remain united, optimistic, and committed to maintaining harmony amidst the ongoing dynamics. The public is expected not to be easily swayed by pessimistic narratives and to continue fostering the spirit of togetherness in addressing various challenges.
