Reopening the office area brought bad news. Some employees suffer from Corona after they work again in the office. This new cluster should be prevented if everyone obeys the health protocol and maintains the body’s immunity.
Since the adaptation of the new normal, the employees at work at the office, after they work from home . But unfortunately this condition took its toll, because there were 5 offices (state institutions and private companies) whose employees were infected with the Covid-19 virus . This news made the public aware because the office could become a new cluster .
Why is the office a new cluster ? Achmad Yurianto, a former spokesman for the Covid-19 task force, explained that Corona can be transmitted by air, especially in places where circulation is not free. This is the result of WHO research. While in offices use AC and less ventilation, so the air can not move freely.
Ahmad Riza Patria, Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta stated that the emergence of the new Covid-19 cluster in these offices was a result of the lack of employee discipline in complying with health protocols. Though this protocol is very easy to do, such as wearing a cloth mask, washing hands with soap or hand sanitizer , and keeping each other apart.
This new cluster also appeared due to an error that seemed to look small but the effect was large. For example, there are employees who wear masks from home, but arrive at the office instead of being removed. Or some don’t wear cloth masks, only faceshield . Even though we know now that the Covid-19 virus can spread through the air, so the main protector is the mask.
The emergence of new clusters can also be from lack of hygiene . When the office should be reopened, there should be antiseptic spray every 4 hours. But maybe because of lack of attention or cost factors, this was not done. In addition, the presence of a meeting in the room can break the rules of physical distancing . These are some of the factors that give rise to clusters .
We can prevent new clusters in the office by disciplining everyone. Not only employees, managers , OBs, and everyone in the office and even guests must obey the health protocol. If a courier arrives without wearing a mask, it is immediately rejected. Everyone also must be aware of themselves and be diligent in washing their hands in the space provided.
Hygiene factors must also be prioritized . Better to get out the cost for antiseptic spraying, than not being able to work actively because of contact with Corona . Do not forget to spray the door handle, elevator button, and other places that are often touched by humans, because it is prone to become a location for penulatan . Isn’t it better to prevent than cure?
What if your office area is already in the Covid-19 cluster ? The place had to be closed for at least 14 days. Employees who are infected with Corona are treated immediately and other employees must be self-isolated in their homes. Do not even take advantage of opportunities in the narrowness by walking, while not required to enter the office.
To comply with physical distancing rules , all employees must not enter the office at once. But there is a turn, so 50% of them work from home and the rest work in the office. As long as the work from home is still good, it doesn’t hurt right? The important thing is that all targets are achieved and all employees are safe from the Covid-19 virus attack .
The emergence of new clusters in office areas is indeed sad, but we must be swift to overcome them. The place was immediately sealed and employees who were not sick were required to be isolated independently. When your office is still safe, prevent the emergence of Corona clusters while still adhering to health protocols with discipline and maintaining body immunity.
