CIDISS, Central Kalimantan – Activity of gold mining, Ensbury Kalteng mining Corp, seem make governor of Central Kalimantan angry. Governor gave warning that will stop or kick the corporation. The corporation runs in the Pangkut Village, Arut Utara district, Kotawaringin Barat Regency, Central Kalimantan Province.
It is because, Ensbury Kalteng mining Corp is assumed has no contribution at all to the area development. Moreover, the corp also assumed has serious environmental case. Then, it make governor will consider about the existence of corp.
“The contract is work contract. But if destructive, give the reason to defend it. Whether, the corp does not give any contribution to region,” said Governor of Central Kalimantan, Sugianto Sabran.
According to data, in the 1999, Ensbury Corp bought stock from Placer Kalteng Mining Corp by the signing of work contract IV and Indonesian Republic Government on 1997, no B-143/Pres/3/1997 date on 17 March 1997. The large of the mining is about 651.000 Ha in Kotawaringin Barat regency and Kotawaringin Timur regency.
Then, the area was decrease after exploration to be 21.110 ha. Then the area of mining has decrease again such in contrak, Ensbury Kalteng Mining corp can be mine of gold on area 1.714 hectare until 30 years later since September 2010.
Based on report on January 2011, the amount of mining production reached 33.7276 Kg or equal to 1.084,28 tOz.
