Support Prabowo’s Program and Safeguard the Transition of Government
Jakarta – The administration of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and Vice President Ma’ruf Amin will come to an end. Jokowi conveyed several messages to smooth the transition of government moving forward. Meanwhile, the elected President and Vice President of Indonesia for the 2024-2029 term, Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka, will be inaugurated on October 20, 2024.
Jokowi’s first message is for all his staff to promptly finalize budget absorption and complete all work programs that are still hindered with less than two months remaining.
“If we can complete the main work program that has already started this last month, concerning absorption, accountability administration, and unresolved issues,” said Jokowi while leading the last plenary cabinet meeting in the National Capital (IKN) Nusantara, on Friday (September 13) last week.
Secondly, ministers and heads of agencies and institutions are asked to fully support the program of the elected President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto. Ensure that the government transition runs effectively, and instruct your team to execute immediately if the transition process requires new regulations.
“If the formulation of policies that need to be created urgently is required, it should be made and completed immediately.” “Especially for the flagship programs of the elected president so that after being inaugurated, the new government can immediately work and run swiftly,” he said.
Third, all ranks are requested not to make extreme policies in order to maintain a conducive situation during the transition of government and to emphasize the importance of maintaining stability ahead of the change of government.
“Do not make extreme policies, especially those related to the public’s needs that could potentially harm the wider community.” “Make sure there are no ripples of unrest until the next government is formed,” added Jokowi.
In line with that, Minister of Communication and Information Budi Arie Setiadi revealed that President Jokowi gave direct instructions in front of all ministers and requested that they ensure the regulations are implemented properly. The regulation must be able to assist and support the government of the elected President Prabowo Subianto and the elected Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka.
“President Jokowi instructed all cabinet members to fully support the elected president’s program and to ensure that the government transition runs effectively so that public services are not disrupted,” said Budi.
According to him, this government transition is believed to be the best period in Indonesia’s history. This is because the transition process has gone smoothly and received full support from the public.
“This is the best government transition, smooth.” “The people also fully support Prabowo-Gibran, who will soon govern as the successors to Mr. Jokowi,” he added.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Law and Human Rights, Supratman Andi Agtas, stated that his office is preparing a Draft Law on Amendments to Law Number 39 of 2008 concerning State Ministries. This change allows Prabowo to increase the number of ministers in the cabinet.
“Everything will be resolved, with the aim of facilitating the transition of power from President Joko Widodo to Prabowo Subianto. We want all regulations to expedite the government’s work moving forward,” concluded Supratman.
