Jakarta Police Nab 34 Chinese Nationals over Alleged Cyber Crimes

Government Attempting to Improve Migrant Workers SecurityThe Jakarta police have arrested a number of Chinese nationals allegedly implicated in online fraud.

Criminal Director of the Jakarta Police Comr. Sr. Krisna Murti said that arrest of those Chinese nationals was related to the cyber crimes they committed in Indonesia.

“In total, we arrested 34 people,” Krisna said on Sunday (24/5), adding that the arrest was done in four different places.

As many as 29 people were arrested in Pondok Indah in South Jakarta and the remaining five were arrested in Green Garden in West Jakarta.

The Chinese nationals arrested are allegedly part of the cyber crime syndicate, which also involves Chinese citizens. They are also allegedly of the same network with 30 Chinese and Taiwanese citizens who were previously arrested in Pantai Indah Kapuk in North Jakarta.
