The Discourse of Conducting Reunion 212 (still) reaps controversy. Starting from the hesitation of the Committee releasing Political Figures, to the reasons for praying for Habib Rizieq. However, they still claim to have obtained a permit to hold this grand reunion. Nevertheless, Reunion 212 still received public rejection because it can cause disruption of traffic flow on Monday morning to be prone to infiltrated by stowaway passengers.
Claims of the Alumni Brotherhood (PA) 212 on the implementation of the Grand Reunion on December 2, are still strong. Because they have two permits pocketed. The permit was issued by the police, DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan, including coordination with the park’s management. However, the possibility of taking part in cooperating with political figures is still considered to be still there, although it is small. Nevertheless, PA 212 seems to deny. He insisted that he wanted to break away from political affairs.
Slamet Ma’arif added that the essence of organizing this grand reunion was to strengthen Islamic brotherhood. Who will later be doing activities with dignity and dhikr together. Until now the PA is still sorting out who are the guests who will be invited, to keep this activity away from the scent of politics. Slamet explained there would be two types of invitations. Namely, for the whole circle as well as special guests or VIPs. But for this type of VIP only a few. He also stated that VIP guests will be sorted as maximum as possible because of limited space and stage.
Indications of this political content can be seen from the people who initiated this activity have been connected to support one of the Candidates in the last election. Although it has passed, in fact there are still many parties who cast doubt on the implementation of this activity. In fact, according to Political Analyst from the Kedaikopi Survey Institute, Hendri Satrio, revealed that history records that the 212 actions cannot be separated from political elements.

Meanwhile, Expert Staff of the Coordinating Minister for Politics and Security, Sri Yunanto, warned that the 212 reunion action was not infiltrated by other agendas including politics. It also details the groups that have the potential to ride 212 reunions against the organizer of the event. One of them is the Bela Tauhid Action, which some time ago was caught red-handed by certain groups. Two of them are wild groups that echo the Khilafah and groups that are not pro President Jokowi.
On the other hand, Presidential Chief of Staff Moeldoko assessed that the public wanted to feel calm, and did not want any action that could trigger chaos or disrupt activities. Moeldoko also stated that there should have been no more actions because the people wanted calm.
Moeldoko then appealed for the 212 reunion to be carried out in an orderly manner if it was truly carried out. He emphasized that the people actually do not want any movement that makes the atmosphere uncomfortable. However, PA 212 continues to insist on holding this action as a form of commemoration of the Birthday of the Prophet Muhammad, as well as joint prayer.
In fact, this kind of warning does not have to make participants flock to Jakarta. This warning should be carried out in each region. In addition to requiring some funds, this action is feared to have an impact on the activities of citizens. The reason the 212 committee estimates that participants will contribute about 1 million people.
Chairperson of the Indonesian Mosque Conference Forum (Formation), Gus Sholeh MZ, had also previously rejected this action. He considered that this activity had come out of his own spirit. Because, the initial purpose of this action was to lead the former Governor of Jakarta, Basuki Tjahja Purnama alias Ahok to account for his behavior. Which is considered blasphemy. And when Ahok had been arrested why this follow-up action was still being held, even up to volumes.
Interestingly, there will be a FPI high priest, Habib Rizieq, who still has to struggle to return to Indonesia. You know, HRS, who is actually not a pro at the president, was invited to this event. It could be that if he could go home, then the 212 actions were feared to contain anti-ideological propaganda of Pancasila. Moreover, HRS is known to be critical to the point of wanting to provoke treason. Namely, the desire to overthrow the President. Society is now smarter to sort out any activities that would trigger controversy. Because, the initial purpose of this reunion was in fact it had shifted!
