National Sports Week (PON) XX 2020 will be held in Papua. The community also supports and appreciates the readiness of Papua as a host because it will be able to promote Papua to the world.
Papua is preparing to welcome the commotion of the National Sports Week which will be held this year. PON XX is the first multievent event held in the easternmost province of Indonesia, of course all preparations by the central government, regional governments to the organizing committee are devoted to the 4 annual event.
With the PON XX event, the venues are built majestically, the construction of the venue is expected not only for the PON event, but can also be used by Papuans as a sports arena for the community, so that talented athletes from the earth of heaven will be born.
Former Persipura Jayapura Captain Eduard Ivakdalam admitted he was amazed by the venues that had been built in the four clusters. According to him, that way Papua is very ready to host PON XX 2020.
In line with the admiration, former 1996 Indonesian League best player, Ronny Wabia said that he was very supportive of the biggest sporting event in Indonesia.
Ronny is optimistic, that with the holding of the PON XX event in Papua coupled with the construction of a number of magnificent venues, will be a place for the birth of potential athletes from the Land of Papua in the future.
He hopes that at the PON XX event Papuan athletes will be able to achieve the best performance at home.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of SOEs and the Provincial Government of Papua have agreed to form a special team that will cooperate in the success of the XX PON and XVI National Paralympic Week (Peparnas) in 2020.
This was revealed by Rini Soemarno as Minister of BUMN. He said, his party would see the program all. So he has met with the Governor to then see what is still needed to succeed the PON.
Rini admitted that she would encourage all SOEs in Indonesia to support the implementation of PON in Papua, while also promoting tourism potential in Bumi Cenderawasih so that the people of Indonesia outside Papua would be able to get to know Papua as a whole.
Specifically, Rini also hopes that the PT Freeport Indonesia share purchase transaction can be completed by the end of 2019 so that the company can sustain the implementation of XX PON in Papua.
The tit for tat, Governor of Papua Lukas Enembe appreciated the Ministry of BUMN for fully supporting the implementation of PON XX. He said, the Minister was very understanding and respect for the implementation of PON in Papua. Mrs. Rini knows her role and task in mobilizing all SOEs in her ministry to succeed in PON.
Lukas also added that support from PT Freeport on the PON event would be maximized so that the implementation of PON in Papua could be carried out properly.
The support from the Ministry of SOE was based on the Presidential Instruction (Inpres) of the Republic of Indonesia Number 10 of 2017 concerning the support of organizing the XX National Sports Week and the XVI National Paralympic Year 2020 in Papua Province. BUMN in the form of sponsorship and promotion of PON XX and PEPARNAS XVI.
In addition, SOEs are also expected to provide facilities in the field of airport and port to provide welcoming facilities (hospitaling).
On different occasions, Jayapura PDAM will also support the implementation of XX PON in Papua. Director of PDAM Jayapura Entis Sutisna said that his party would utilize Lake Sentani to become raw water or ready-to-drink water to increase the capacity of clean water and the amount of water distributed to the community and to the needs of Papua PON XX later.
He said, the management of Lake Sentani would later be built by the central government. Currently the process is only used and certainly hygienic in accordance with Permenkes, because this has used modern equipment and has met health requirements.
For the time being, the provision of drinking water for PON XX will later PDAM Jayapura has provided 6 ready-to-drink drinking water points built at several points in the Jayapura city area. Of course, the use of ready-to-drink faucets certainly must pass both physical and chemical tests.
The implementation of the PON is certainly a prestigious event as well as a pride for Papua, with the event many sectors were then involved for the success of the 4-year multievent.
