The Spirit of Peace is Present at the WWF World Water Forum 2024 Bali

Bali – Indonesia brought the spirit of peace to water diplomacy or hydro-diplomacy at the grand event of the 10th World Water Forum which took place in Bali.

With strong cooperation and commitment, Indonesia will ensure that water can support the creation of peace, stability, growth, progress and prosperity for all living things on this Blue Planet.

This was demonstrated by the 13 delegation leaders who attended the 10th World Water Forum High Level Conference (KTT) in Nusa Dua, Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center (BNDCC), Badung Regency, Bali Province. The delegation leaders who attended further strengthened cooperation and collaboration efforts in overcoming global water and sanitation management problems.

The presence of 13 leaders from various elements indicates that the 10th World Water Forum opens up opportunities for stakeholders to collaborate on water and sanitation solutions.

Because, in this high-level meeting, the stakeholders will interact intensively with each other to produce an agreement or joint commitment regarding water and sanitation solutions that are implemented in real terms. At the opening of the 10th World Water Forum in Nusa Dua, Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center (BNDCC), Badung Regency, Bali Province on Monday (20/5/2024), President Jokowi repeatedly emphasized the importance of world cooperation in overcoming water problems. global.

“Indonesia is trusted to host the 10th World Water Forum to strengthen joint commitment and formulate concrete actions for inclusive and sustainable water management,” said President Joko Widodo (Jokowi).

In this World Water Forum, there are three points that Indonesia has consistently pushed for, namely first increasing the principles of solidarity and inclusiveness to reach solutions with small island countries and those experiencing water scarcity; second, carrying out hydro diplomacy for concrete and innovative cooperation to avoid competition in cross-border water management; and third, strengthening political leadership as the key to successful cooperation towards sustainable water security.

Through this forum, Indonesia also raised four new initiatives, namely the establishment of world lake day, the establishment of a center of excellence in the Asia Pacific, sustainable water management in small island countries, and the promotion of water projects.

President Jokowi said that water is not just a natural product but a product of collaboration that unites us, so joint efforts are needed to protect it. President Jokowi hopes that the stakeholders present at the 10th World Water Forum can collaborate in the future. Make this event an entry point to strengthen cooperation, especially in water and sanitation solutions.
