Indonesia, as a country with extraordinary biodiversity, has an important role in creating a more sustainable world. Amid the increasingly pressing challenges of climate change and environmental degradation, the Indonesia Sustainability Forum (ISF) 2024 on 5-6 September 2024 at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC), is a vital initiative that not only addresses these challenges but also accelerates the transition to a green economy. This forum is a place for stakeholders to share knowledge, create collaborations, and formulate concrete steps for a better future.

In recent years, awareness of the importance of sustainability has increased significantly around the world. However, to achieve this goal, collaboration between governments, the private sector, civil society, and academia is needed. ISF 2024 seeks to bridge all these parties to jointly design effective strategies in natural resource management and carbon emission reduction, so that the right momentum is there to make environmental issues a top priority in the national and global development agenda.

As one of the peak events in the field of sustainability, ISF 2024 not only focuses on environmental issues, but also explores the relationship between the green economy and social welfare. One of the important figures in this forum is Dion Wiyoko, who was appointed as the ambassador of ISF 2024. In an interview, Dion stated that he believes that ISF 2024 can move more people to be aware of the importance of protecting the environment. Because according to him, sustainability is not only the task of the government or companies, but the responsibility of all humans.

ISF 2024 will focus on 5 pillars of discussion, namely green economy   energy transition   nature conservation and biodiversity  ,  sustainable living  and  marine economy  (Blue Economy) .

ISF 2024 will focus on five pillars of discussion that are the main foundations in driving sustainability in Indonesia and the world. The first pillar is the green economy , which emphasizes the importance of creating economic growth that not only prioritizes financial profits, but also pays attention to environmental and social impacts. By implementing green economy principles, the private sector and government can work together to develop more environmentally friendly industries, reduce waste, and increase resource efficiency.

The second pillar is Energy Transition , focusing on the shift from fossil fuels to renewable energy sources. Amidst the growing awareness of the impacts of climate change, energy transition is a crucial step to reduce carbon emissions and create a cleaner and more sustainable energy system. ISF 2024 will be a platform for experts and stakeholders to discuss the latest innovations and technologies in renewable energy, as well as strategies to integrate them into national energy policies.

The third pillar includes nature conservation and biodiversity ( Biodiversity and Nature Conservation ), as an important aspect in maintaining ecosystem balance and the survival of various species.

In addition, sustainable living and the marine economy ( Blue Economy ) will also be the main focus, with the aim of encouraging people to adopt environmentally friendly habits and manage marine resources sustainably. Through these five pillars, ISF 2024 is expected to provide guidance and solutions to build a greener and more sustainable future.

Collaboration between the private sector and government is one of the main highlights of this forum. As expressed in several previous discussions, success in achieving sustainability targets cannot be achieved without full support from all parties. The private sector, as an economic driver, has a strategic role in environmentally friendly technological innovation and sustainable product development.

In this context, Iskandar, CEO of Batang Integrated Industrial Estate (KITB), expressed his belief that the synergy between technology and sustainability is the key to achieving a green economy. Through ISF, his party wants to show that innovation can go hand in hand with environmental preservation.

Seeing the potential and urgency, ISF 2024 is a forum that should not be missed. The existence of this forum is a positive signal that Indonesia is committed to facing environmental challenges seriously. Support from all parties, from the government, private sector, to the community, is needed to create an ecosystem that supports sustainability.

ISF 2024 is not just a forum, but a movement that invites everyone to participate in realizing a green economy. With various initiatives and collaborations produced, it is hoped that Indonesia can become a pioneer in sustainability efforts, not only for itself, but also for the world. It is time for everyone to unite and act to keep this earth green and habitable for future generations. The success of ISF 2024 will be an indicator that we can create meaningful change, and hopefully this forum will be a stepping stone for further efforts in creating a more sustainable world.
