Jakarta – After being inaugurated as the Head of the Indonesian Capital Authority (IKN), Basuki Hadimuljono received special instructions from President Prabowo Subianto regarding the acceleration of the development of the IKN in East Kalimantan. In his instructions, President Prabowo emphasized the importance of completing this development within 3-4 years.

“President Prabowo requested that the construction of the IKN be completed within 3-4 years,” said Basuki.

Basuki explained that each stage of development would be made as efficient as possible, with clear work program and budget management.

“For me, as long as there is a program and budget, I will do it. You already know my working style, right?” said Basuki.

He also emphasized that this development acceleration can be realized with the full support of various parties, especially from the relevant ministries.

This step to accelerate the development of the IKN is part of the Prabowo government’s strong commitment to making the IKN a new, fully functional center of government and a symbol of equitable development outside Java.

Thus, the IKN is expected to be able to trigger the growth of various development sectors in East Kalimantan and the surrounding areas, creating significant economic and social impacts for Indonesia.

In order to strengthen the implementation of this project, Basuki held a strategic meeting with Minister of Public Works Dody Hanggodo and Deputy Minister Diana Kusumastuti.

The meeting focused on discussing the continuation of the first phase of the IKN development which is targeted for completion in 2027. In addition, Basuki asked for additional personnel from the PU Ministry to accelerate existing technical work, to ensure that all aspects of development can run smoothly according to the set schedule.

Minister Dody expressed his full support for the IKN.

“We are ready to support the smooth completion of the entire IKN ecosystem,” he stressed.

Meanwhile, the Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY), also emphasized the government’s commitment to the continuation of the development of the IKN.

“We will build and continue several infrastructure projects according to the President’s instructions,” said AHY.

He explained that the main priorities for the initial development phase include executive, legislative and judicial facilities, which will enable the IKN to fully function as a center of government.

This acceleration is expected to make the IKN a strong symbol of equitable development in Indonesia, strengthening the role of East Kalimantan as a modern and sustainable center of government.
