Jakarta – Minister of Villages and Disadvantaged Village Development (PDT) Yandri Susanto appealed to the entire community to respect the results of the 2024 simultaneous regional elections. He emphasized the importance of maintaining the people’s voice as a form of healthy democracy.

“Respect the people’s choice, don’t hurt the people’s voice because it is purely the people’s voice,” said Yandri in his statement.

According to him, the votes given by the people reflect the hope for better change, such as the elimination of corruption, the avoidance of the practice of buying and selling positions, and the creation of happiness in society.

“These voices should be respected and not belittled,” he added.

A similar invitation was also conveyed by the Head of the East Java DPD IMM for Wisdom, Politics, and Public Policy, Akhlis Nastainul Firdaus who gave his appreciation for the implementation of the Pilkada in a conducive manner. IMM considered this as evidence of the maturity of democracy that must continue to be maintained to strengthen unity.

“The regional elections are a five-yearly routine agenda, so it should not cause hostility. It’s time for us to work together to provide the best contribution for East Java,” said Firdaus.

Firdaus also appealed to all elements of society, including students, to accept the results of the Pilkada with a mature and peaceful attitude. IMM East Java invited the community to forget the differences in political choices after the Pilkada and reunite as citizens who have shared responsibilities.

“Now there is no longer the term supporting a particular pair, but all parties are expected to work together for the progress of the region,” he stressed.

The same thing was expressed by the Chairman of the East Java Muhammadiyah Regional Leadership (PWM), Dr. dr. Sukadiono, MM, who emphasized the importance of an open attitude in accepting the results of the regional elections.

“Regional elections are an important moment in a country’s democratic life. Peaceful regional elections not only produce legitimate governments, but also reflect the strength of a mature democracy,” he said.

Sukadiono also invited all levels of society to prioritize the spirit of unity after the regional elections, especially in East Java.

“Differences are natural in democracy. However, now is the time for us to unite to build a better and superior East Java in various fields,” he concluded.

Through this invitation, the public is expected to be able to respond to the 2024 Pilkada with maturity, making it a momentum to strengthen unity and work together to build a better future.
