CIDISS. The Indonesian Pesantren Association (IPI) invites the public to support government policies related to the issuance of Perppu No. 2 of 2017 concerning the amendment of Law number 17 of 2013 on Community Organizations (Ormas) which will soon be ratified by the House of Representatives into Law.

Chairman of the Board of Indonesian Pesantren Board of Trustees, RM Sumadi said that IPI saw the birth of Perpmas Society is very good for maintaining the unity and unity of a plural nation. The Perpmas of CSOs as a national commitment together as already established by the founders of the nation from the beginning of the Indonesian state were established so that it needs to be preserved in accordance with Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution.

He also said that the Perppu is to regulate mass organizations that are inconsistent with Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution to be given strict sanctions. Sumadi exemplified such a mass organization that is so far considered to be against the Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution, namely Gafatar and HTI. According to him, it is natural for the government to act decisively by dissolving these organizations so it is unethical to call the government now called authoritarian.

Sumadi said, Gafatar and HTI is a mass organization that aims to change the basic state to be what they want. Very dangerous if it happens, we can civil war. The government has acted firmly and we must support it.

Sumadi also disagreed with a number of views related to the publication of the Perppu No. 2 of 2017 on organizations that are considered anti-Islamic.

Sumadi also said, He thinks not anti-Islam but the Perppu regulate anti-Pancasila mass organizations, should be able to distinguish, do not we get caught opinion. Let us think clearly and wisely to address the mass organizations, do not want to be provoked by groups that always make our country rowdy by way of protests continuously because it can disrupt the stability of our country.

The government’s policy of issuing the Regulation of the President in Lieu of Law (PERPPU) number 2 of 2017 as a substitute of Law Number 17 Year 2013 on Social Organization is one way to take care of the Unitary State of Republic of Indonesia from mass organizations or groups deviated from the national and state goals. Let’s support the government’s policy of mass organizations who want to divide the Unitary Republic of Indonesia in order to safeguard Pancasila, the 1945 Constitution and the integrity of NKRI.
