CIDISS. A number of tourism actors in Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, are carrying out efforts to restore tourist visits after the big earthquake that occurred in early August. Chairman of the Indonesian NTB Hotels and Restaurants Association (PHRI), Abdul Hadi Faishal, said that several hotels are currently holding hot deals to attract tourists again.
Hadi said that some of the hotels affected by the earthquake were stopping selling, but still receiving guests. Stop selling means that a number of hotels that suffered earthquake damage stopped temporarily selling room sales. However, that does not mean that the hotels stop operating, especially hotels in the Senggigi Beach area and Mataram City, West Lombok.
The concept of hot deals was discussed in a coordination meeting with a number of stakeholders and the government some time ago after the earthquake occurred. As for the hotdeals in question, each hotel provides an attractive package for tourists who come.
According to Abdul Hadi Faishal, currently hotels in Lombok are preparing to receive tourists again. Even a number of hotels in Gili Trawangan will resume operations in September.
Furthermore, Chairman of the Regional Tourism Promotion Agency (BPPD) Fauzan Zakaria explained, a number of hotels would give low prices to their guests at random. For example, guests will be free to stay 3 days and 2 nights by paying only one night’s rent. There are also hotels that make a lottery payment with breakfast. That is, guests are only asked to pay for the breakfast menu for 3 days and 2 nights.
Hotels that offer hot deals are hotels that are directly affected by the earthquake, both in the land of Lombok and the trio of Gili. This incessant promotion will be held until the end of the year. Whereas at the beginning of the year, still in the process of restoring the tourism situation, BPPD together with the NTB Tourism Office will hold a NTB Great Sale specifically for tour packages, hotels and restaurants.
Meanwhile, another promotion carried out by Lombok is by utilizing 2018 Asian Games performances. Head of the West Nusa Tenggara Regional Tourism Promotion Agency (BPPD) Fauzan Zakaria said his area prepared two special art performances that had been and would be exhibited at the Asian Games venue at Bung Karno Stadium.
